Attempted robbery at the Bellagio poker room, Suspect shot

Police officer was shot in the vest and is okay. Attempted robber is listed as in critical condition after police returned fire.

Unfortunately the thieves are around us.Everywhere!

Let's hope both attacker and officer recover. I hope attacker recovers so he could spent a life in jail thinking about being a moron. What is it in some humans that gets them to think like animals?

I have never been to las vegas, but I would imagine these places would have a lot of security alone, aswell as numerous police on the strip.

Walking into this place with a gun and demanding money is surely going to lead to arrest or getting shot.

A desperate attempt to get money for drugs or gambling debts.

Typical morons. Prayers for the officer.

Been to Vegas many times, always felt safe as there are always many people around and usually lots of Security. Hope the officer has a speedy recovery.

How desperate do you have to be to rob a place with more cameras per sq ft than probably anywhere in the world? Glad the good guy was wearing a vest. I have heard many stories of people following winners home from casinos too. Rules of thumb, don't get too drunk, don't flash your cash and definitely watch around you when you leave after a good night!

This is what I also thought when I read this news . I mean ...

Of all the potential opportunities to rob , he chose the worst . A casino in Las Vegas....And he also used his gun and fired ....

He shot at the policemen , not being afraid he might kill them or get killed by them . He is either completely financially desperate , drug addicted , or crazy , but for sure he is very stupid and dangerous to himself and to others ........
I wish speed recovery to the policeman , but also to the thief , that way he will have plenty of time in prison to think about his stupid actions that might had cost him , the policeman or other people their lives, feel remorse and regret

Interested to know why exactly he did this.

Maybe he binged on cocaine while at the $5/$10 game lost all his money and thought the last guy who sold the stolen chips from his robbery on another forum got away with it, he heard some peppy music in the elevator on his way out and thought why not.

We can only speculate as he is :hahaha:chillin right now in the morgue.

I mean what was he thinking? They've made movies about robbing casinos, because apparently it's a rarity. It must be extremely hard. This dude found out the hard way.

I don't understand. Did this guy not watch the Ocean's movies? Maybe they were super desperate. That is the only sensible explanation for such a senseless crime.

Uou would have to be insane or on some powerful drugs to attempt to rob a casino with todays technology and the amount of money they have invested in their security. No chance anyone can get away with it like back in the day (before technology and forensics).

I noticed in this article that there was a tweet that Ellie elezra put out. In the Tweet he said Bellagio poker cage robbed again.. it sounds like this wasn't the first time then? Since he said again.. must be some dumb criminals that would walk in with a gun in any casino like that knowing they're probably going to get caught immediately.......

Rolex Robbery

I recall being at the Belligio playing poker when the Rolex store was robbed (I think it was at the end of 2016 or start of 2017).

I had my headphones on watching Netflix, when I noticed a bunch of players getting up quickly from the corner of my eye. They all appeared to be moving from something. Being the noisy person I am, I thought a fight broke out so I jumped up to see some of the actions. After a second I noticed everyone getting under the tables. I pulled my earphones out and quickly sat down because I realized it must have been gunfire that made everyone drop.

We were all quickly escorted to an exit by floor managers as I heard some of the players say they heard a shot being fired. All chips were [obviously] left on the tables. We stood outside for about 10 minutes until police said it was ok to comeback in.

We were let back in pretty quickly, considering the situation. We later found out that the “gunshot” heard was actually a loud sound heard from the breaking of glass. Three men had broken into the Rolex shop at the bellagio on a Friday evening wearing out masks and holding fake rifles. I believe one man was caught that night while the other two ran off. Not only did they choose one of the busiest nights of the week to rob a casino, they also used the guest parking lot, which is notrously congested at that time of day.
