Do these lists include all time Tournament $$$$ as they are abit pointless when you include the $100K and $1million Buyins. I thought there was a money list that didnt include 50K buyins +

Effectively a guy could win $30 million playing the big buyins but spend $40 Million, hardly a reflection of true ability, just that he has more $$$ than sense

rhombus is right, only somewhat interesting as things like the one drop heavily influence it. But even the lower buyin wsop makes a big hit for a single tournament eg placing jamie gold 15th. While Ivy, Helmuth and Juanda had to earn their places the hard way.

Nice appreciation, i agree with you a 100 %. I think the list rewards some players that in my opinion are bad players, for instance Jamie Gold had a tremendous main event and yes won 12 million dollars but since then he disappeared, or Howard Lederer who i think is a disgrace for the poker community.
Most of them are on the list because the one drop is a big catapult for your money earnings, I'm not saying the players on the list are bad, they are tremendous monsters (most of them), but some old school players are in the bottom places because the fields and tournaments back then were short.
The man in first place Mister Daniel Negreanu is a poker phenomenon, yesterday I was watching on you tube his top five poker reads and i got to tell you this guy is like a player said: "you're a sick human being" hahaha.
I'm leaving the link here for those of you who enjoy watching poker classic videos like I do.

I don't see Negreanu losing the top!! He is a monster... All in the top 10 are monsters, but Negreanu for me is in another level.

the list is great , but i do agree with ppl questioning the Players who won one drop n there .. that s rediculous. winning vs 40 odd Players can ve GPI Points and also can be among all time moneywinners. now tommorow they will ve 10 mil buyins and then one Person win out of 10 .. then boom he is on top of all time Money list with 50 mil to his Name.. that s very odd

Yeah, there's a different list for that: http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/ranking/5/

And it looks very different. For example, Antonio Esfandiari drops from 2nd place to 81st because $18.3 million of his total is the $1m buying Big One for One Drop (and it's public knowledge that he was pieced out in that event, so he didn't get to keep anywhere near that much, even before tax).

Here's the top 10 for open events with buyins over $50K excluded. You'll notice it's still distorted to some extent by single large wins from the WSOP Main Event (Gold, Jacobson, Duhamel).

1st canada Daniel Negreanu $ 17,876,202
2nd United States Phil Hellmuth Jr $ 14,627,205
3rd United States Michael Mizrachi $ 14,310,512
4th sweden Martin Jacobson $ 13,924,829
5th United States Phil Ivey $ 13,697,204
6th Indonesia John Juanda $ 13,481,632
7th United States Jamie Gold $ 12,421,188
8th United States Erik Seidel $ 12,210,305
9th Canada Jonathan Duhamel $ 12,149,054
10th United States Scotty Nguyen $ 11,639,918

I always felt that Seidel never really gets the respect he deserves. Solid player at the top of both of these lists. Too bad he is remembered more for a hand he lost than the ones he won.
