You probably heard about the VIP changes pokerstars is making in 2016.
This made a lot of comotion in the poker world. After a boycot from a group of
regulars in the hope to get the VIP program better in 2016, Alex Millar feels like he have to leave:

lol he is high stakes player, he can afford it, in recent years he earned more than $ 7 million. So it's not a heroic act, need to protect their interests until the end, and not to leave when it becomes bad.

It is really bad the way pokerstars scammed their customers with the VIP changes. I gues Alex didn't have a great deal with pokerstars, like Daniel has. It is nice to see he cares and don't want to represent the company anymore while losing a nice deal with stars. But not needed imo.
Many people expect Daniel to leave pokerstars and hate him for not leaving, thats not fair, i think they all do care and they all honestly hate what pokerstars did. It won't change anything if they leave i think.

Thanks! Its funny to see people getting mad at Kid Poker for not leaving pokerstars, and those that are mad are still playing on pokerstars.

I wonder if kanu will continue to play on pokerstars since he left.

He said he was going to keep playing at PokerStars.

I read most the topic over at 2+2 .. it is unbelievable the amount of players that want him to resign. He try'd to help .. couldn't change the bosses minds. After all when push comes to shove he is just a spokesperson for them. He has no real control over what they do. He can only advise and give his opinion. Their anger is directed at the wrong person.

Standing up for what you represent and who you are, is a humble decision on Millars part. It seems that people like dnegs and other pokerstars "sponsors" are staying hush on the subject of having their funds exploited. We all know this is because they are probably under some sort of contract. Only action will change pokerstars wrongdoing. More power to Alex!

Dnegs hasn't been staying hush. He has been very vocal and is actually catching allot of heat because of it.

Yup, I knew this was wrong the second I read the word hush associated with Daniel Negreanu.
Daniel doesn't know the meaning of hush. :p

Although daniel can admit that pokerstars broke their promise (I think we can agree that's pretty obvious), what I don't understand is why is he still associated with them on such a personal level. He represents this company and has to legally! It puts him in a bad light keeping his contract with pokerstars because that means he believes in letting them (pokerstars) mislead players with NO repercussion! I think it takes a real man to stand up and fight for what is right, rather than being contractually obligated to support this companies moves. To me the fact that pokerstars in dnegs eyes is "the biggest and best poker website" makes no difference. It's his profession and I'd expect him to take a bigger stand for the well being of poker as a whole and what happens when the top companies decide to try and take advantage of their top paying players.

If these guys feel this strongly they should stop playing at the site and take their action elsewhere.
They make money there by exploiting weaker players and using HUDs to multi table.
These people are not to be admired as highly moral people.

all 3 of those sentences are so irrelevant I'm kind of confused as to how you even put them together.

I'm just a passionate person and think Dnegs could have a large positive influence on the poker community by leaving PS. I don't see him as a hero/idol but he's the face of poker and could stand with more integrity than he has. Also, HUDs are open for all people to use and learn the skills required to leverage that information. What makes an HUD unfair for anyone that has the option to utilize it, but chooses not to?

I have read about this. That player (Tommy Chen) got called out for using a HUD on a site where HUD aren't approved.. All HUD eliminated because people figured out how to cheat the system? I doubt it, but in any case, HUD on sites where they are allowed is just another way for a player to leverage their position

My thoughts on HUDS are in the link I provided. I don't intend to get into another debate about them in this thread.

Short version: they give an unfair advantage because there are players who don't know HUDS are available to them.

Interesting because there are so many stars pros who I like a lot. It's more likely he just has other opportunities and is pivoting away from poker in general and this was just the straw that broke the camels back.

I'd be surprised if others followed him tbh. Stars pros get paid just to have their pictures taken and wear a hat. It's too good a gig to pass up until the negative publicity from being associated with stars gets big enough. Currently only a small % of the player pool is even aware of the situation.
