I'm not sure it was intentional, but it seems fishy.

Players who don't keep their big chips in front or on top of their stack irritate the hell out of me. It is a well known rule so they are doing it on purpose because they think they are too good to do what they are supposed to do - or they are trying to mislead their opponents with the actual size of their stack.

Either way they suck.

I don't Alec Torelli is the kind of guy that would do this intentionally, I think it was a genuine mistake. Doug Polk is just a click bait whore. He always accusing someone of something or making misleading video titles just to get views.

I follow all 3 channels (Doug Polk, Negreanu and Alec Torelli) and like all 3 channels and personalities. They have all done some really good stuff. Some recent examples

  1. DNegs:
    • He just sponsored 3 players to the main event
    • showed a very human side of him in the 50K PPC, where during a break he clearly showed his frustration at being raised by 2 other guys with marginal hands. Eventually he went down to 1bb I believe but he ended up 4th place at days end. Now he's chip leader with the final 8 left.
    • Notice how he even ends up providing titles won, bracelets won and their twitter handles. That's free marketing from the most well popular poker player in the world. In an earlier vid even Howard Lederer was displayed, which was fair with him being a player in the same tourney I believe.
  2. Torelli:
    • This
is a really great example of how he went out of his way to help someone. That was really thoughtful of him to do so.
    • I really like his "Ask Alec" series. For someone still getting his feet wet in the world of poker this series is really helpful.
  3. Doug Polk:
    • Certainly the most controversial but I've never found to him to purposefully distort the truth to his benefit. In fact, his older videos show how critical he is of Helmuth's behaviour. In
, where they got to play at a tourney together, he actually steps up and explains Phil's behaviour on his behalf. Very interesting!
    • While's he gone full steam ahead on DNeg's rake issue. He's actually defended him as a person in a later vid (hand review while twitch streaming). The only issue he's had with him has been the PS rake defense.
    • No one mentions how often he also pokes fun of himself and his image in his own vids. He spares no one. He just has a good mixture of humor and objective reporting (to the best of his knowledge)
Whole point is: All 3 have their faults and have made mistakes (doesn't that make them human?). Does one have to dislike one or more if they like the other?

PS - I forgot about the vids embedding. They've made a bit of a mess in the para structures but undoing it is more painful

It's looks a little suspicious but I truly do not believe it was intentional

Bottom line is as seasoned as Torelli is... He should have had those chips in front. Mostly everyone that has played as long as he has knows that... Especially at the stakes they were playing for. Deceitful to say the least IMO.

It is ALWAYS intentional when done by anyone experienced at playing live poker. :)

It kinda make sense. He is waaaay more experience than your average local casino player. There is no way that he doesn't pay attention to that.

he instantly grabbed his big chips and brought them forward after the guy called.. he knew what he was doing, he waited for him to call and then grabbed them and made sure they were in play, then he tossed out every lame excuse he could to make sure they were playing for his whole stack.. absolute angle shoot, hes been around poker a long time he knows the rules. then he had the balls to make a video about making sure people have all their chips in sight at the table so it doesn't happen to you.. lol .. alec torelli is a joke IMO, that was disgusting to trap someone like that. but the tape doesn't lie!

Not sure what to think about the whole fuss but have to say @darthdimsky, that these vids (especially the one with Doug and Phill Helmuth) are great.

Always thought that Phill Helmuth is kind of a.hole (tbh he act like this in numerous occasions) but after seeing this chat at 3 AM, I'm changing my mind.

Thanks man :)

Usually lol especially the ones he doesn't like, torelli , Schwartz and negreanu. Sometimes it's a bit childish but overall like his videos
Also liked Negreanu vlogs but he got quite annoying regarding the POY.
