hi guys, just had my account suspended by acr, spoke to livechat and was told that as i reside in Australia they will no longer be able to accomodate me as a bill was passed in 2016 to ban online poker, they are abit slow on the uptake and this is the sole reason why they are so succesful in my opinion. I told asked livechat if they still operate for the U.S.A and was told yes....... I just dont see how they can do this as U.S.A had the ban in place before Australia. I have access to another platform of the wpn network and was told they are going through 1 by 1 closing account of australians. I think somthing shifty is happening here. Its ok for them to break U.S.A laws but not Australias.

1 at a time sounds awfully slow 2 me. there's no way they should take so long to ban accounts.
Did you happen to have a balance or large balance on ACR?
What platform Are you able to still log in from?
I'm just curious!

This has litterally happened over night. The legislation was passed 2 years ago. WPN was pretty much the only network aussies could play on. I’m pretty pissed atm.:mad:

The US is a different situation than Austrralia. In the US, the ban was on the banks doing business with the poker sites. We can still visit the site and play poker on it, technically. There are some outright bans of European sites like pokerstars et al.

The exceptions to the US rule are further regulated by the States themselves. In Washington, for instance, you cannot play online and it is a felony to even have the software.

It sucks for Australians, and I feel for you.

That really stinks, I know the feeling from 4/15/11, Black Friday. Hope you can play somewhere and get your money out.

Thats odd. Better look out. They may be coming for the USA. They should really stop this and make a deal for people to play everywhere. we need to be free to make up our minds

Strange

The laws of prohibition are strange, here in Venezuela the crazy government that we have banned the live casinos, that is to say all the casino premises were closed, only leaving the Isla de Margarita in which if there are casinos and nowadays it is where my country are playing live poker tournaments, in terms of internet poker all the rooms are allowed and it is our means of surviving this terrible situation:jd4:

You can still play on Ignition...

I tried to download the platform earlier and got a virus on my computer... was a waste of time and waste of money, considering I have to get the hard drive wiped... b$llshit.

As soon as I found out this news about ACR I was p#ssed off like everybody but I kept telling myself "worst case scenario I'll just have to play live more often, so it's not the end of the world" but then it dawned on me... ..

As I'm in a wheelchair - I cannot just jump in the car and drive down the road to the nearest casino (about 30 km's) ...... it's going to actually cost me more than the buy-in just to get there, which is ridiculous to say the least .. .. .

I was thinking that I'll just be able to afford the buy-ins of $60 but just getting there and back will cost more haha haha .. .... I don't know what is more depressing, ACR pulling out of the Australian market or the realisation that I can't even afford to play live because of me being in a wheelchair?

I really don't know what I'm going to do... ... buying a van (that i can drive..) so on a regular basis I can get down there will cost me 10k or just not bother hahahahaha .. this whole situation sucks big time.

That may very well be true. I know one person from Australia who is still playing on ACR. We play in the same tournament every weeknight.

This is all over a skill game. Not a murder or a brutal rape or a violent robbery but this is over just the legendary game of poker. Keep it real guys this is rather silly people want to play a skill game JUST LET THEM.

That stinks if you folks can't play from Australia anymore, but is strange that some can log in and some can't.

The ban in the US targeted payment systems for inline gambling. Not online poker per se

Sounds shitty, I kind of like ACR although the software could be a little better.
