A malicious code was found in PokerTracker

Data skimming malware known as Magecart has been identified inside the popular tracking platform PokerTracker. The malicious code was first detected by Malwarebytes and details were made public on August 20. After conducting a variety of tests, experts at Malwarebytes found that Magecart was being used to steal payment details.

Hopefully, if you are a PokerTracker user, you were not affected.

Hopefully there are some computer science members on here. How did the malicious code get there? Did PT intentionally put that in their code? How could the software get compromised from getting it from the PT site without them knowing?

Im a holdem manager user , any chance im infected since HM and PT merged?

Wow ,I am glad I don't have that program. That would be scary for that too happen. But there are programs to remove them, sometimes even have to wipe out hard drive and reinstall like I did 5 years ago.

only thing i can say is wow.

Steals your payment details?

I won my PT3 many years ago in an online tournament where it was offered as an additional added prize. I guess I'm worry free.

No relevance at all --- the issue is obviously only of concern to those that use it ---

Its just like the poker sites, i believe they are all playing us. Have no proof that its rigged but i am allowed to have this opinion !

Not one single one is the exception that says "hey lets be an honest casino" i truly believe this.

In fact, the terms and conditions we accept when we click that box sound very malicious and the poker sites can do things that would sound like a virus if you actually read them described to you. The data that is collected, what can be observed on screen. If this was described to you years ago it would sound like someone was talking about a virus even.

Some cookies today, there really is no difference between one of them and a basic virus years ago.
