As concern over the coronavirus disease grows, so do fears on how a pandemic could affect global events, including the world series of poker in Las Vegas. The wsop is scheduled to start May 26 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino, and poker players are growing concerned about how the coronavirus could impact their summer travel plans. It's always good to have a backup plan in case these big events do not run as scheduled.

Even if it happens the turnout will be lower, and will likley have a higher than average skill level. I bet they'll postpone it.

If the virus follows a similar pattern to the flu which a lot of people think is likely than within a month we won't be hearing about new cases let alone come the start of the WSOP.

I still dont feel threatened by any means... but the amount of GDP that's being lost is pretty astounding. Im sitting here with a casted broken leg and the VA is putting me on the back burner because its not a priority anymore. Effecting everyone somewhere someway! Stay safe everyone.

Until then, we can have the vaccine against this virus, and proceed normally! But before this happens, we can take precautions, following the hygiene guidelines that are the basis for any type of disease, not only for COVID-19.

I have no doubt that the timeline of the World Series of Poker program is sustainable. In fact, no sports or social event should be considered this year until a vaccine against the disease is obtained, apart, economically speaking, the economic debacle that the virus represents plays against the planning and scheduling of any event that represents the present public.

The virus will almost certainly not be under control, and I imagine America will be in full lockdown - I think it will be postponed. The announcement for that will likely come soon - they will need to do a lot of reorganisation in a relatively short period

If postponed large-scale events such as the Olympics and the European Football Championship will take exactly the WSOP (and rightly so people's health is more important!)

The Olympics have already been postponed I don't know about the European football championship cuz I don't follow that LOL and I seriously doubt the World Series of Poker will take place in a month right now things are very out of control here in the USA and it would just be craziness to put thousands of people together at crowded tables in crowded rooms I doubt that would happen anytime soon.....
