2016 Poker Hall of Fame Nominations.

I finally made a submission for the first time for the Poker Hall of Fame. Yes, while it is pretty much American centric and not really an accurate portrayal of all players globally that could/should be immortalized, it's still paying homage to its history.

I submitted a nomination for Jeffrey Lisandro (the REAL Iceman).

6 bracelets, 60 cashes (as of today), a continuing force at the tournament tables. His single most impressive feat was winning 3 bracelets in the 2009 wsop, in each variation of Stud (Hi, H/L split, and Razz). I don't think that's ever going to happen again.

Who would you nominate?

Jason Mericer is getting close to his record. haha

What record? He hasn't won a bracelet in a Stud variant in this WSOP, though I think you meant 3 bracelets in one year. Jason is close to becoming the 6th person to achieve it, which would make him a boatload of additional money from his bracelet bets. Two others also have 2 bracelets in this year's WSOP (Benny Glaser and Ian Johns). They also have a chance to make history.

Side note - Mercier is years away from the Hall of Fame discussion. It reminded me of the year a lot of people were nominating Tom Dwan for the HOF. That's when they instituted the minimum age requirement of 40 years old. I'm hoping some other people respond to this thread though.

Jeffrey Lisandro to me is worthy of the Poker HOF... always been a fan of his play.

I think i would go with phil! Or mercier!

I'm not a huge fan of hall of fames due to the fact that they can be subjective in nature but I did make a nomination.

After doing some research and not knowing who was all eligible based on the criteria needed to be elected, I figured both Phil Ivey and Chris Moneymaker would almost be automatic locks.

I nominated Chris Moneymaker even though I readily admit he probably hasn't achieved nor will what some of the the other eligible candidates have to this point. His name and his wsop victory rightly or wrongly will always be associated with the poker boom, and for that landmark in poker history I think it would be odd if he didn't make it in at some point.(I'm not sure why but every time I think of Chris Moneymaker it makes me think of John Daly the pro golfer...go figure)

I also think Jeffery Lisandro is an excellent nomination as well, there are though many names from the past that have been waiting and seem to be overlooked year after year and are deserving of consideration. I like what they did last year with Juanda/Harmon even though at first (even though both were more than deserving)I wasn't estatic with the choices, the fact they went with one woman and one man was nice and I wouldn't mind seeing that trend continue.
