Your opinion: HUDs, tracking, analyzing
I'm looking for peoples input on how effective HUDs can actually be, whether you track all of your poker statistics, and if you bother to review hand histories and study other parts of your game.
I have used HUDs before mostly on free trials. I never understood how to use the stats effectively enough to warrant paying for one. How helpful of a tool do you find it to be and if you do use them, what are some of the key stats to apply?
Off an on throughout my poker "career" I have tried to find ways to track my progress and keep up with how much I'm actually spending and making. It is simple enough to do if all you are tracking is money spent and money made, however I would love to get more in depth. What are some of the best and easiest ways to track your poker games
. Time played, session length, stakes, all that good stuff. I have tried several excel templates but they are often not what I'm looking for.
The above leads to my next question of how much time do you spend analyzing your own poker game. Do you load hand histories and pour through them or note specific hands to review later? If you track your poker games do you then weekly, monthly, yearly sit down and review your progress and look for weakness? Maybe their is a game or stake you haven't performed well in or after a certain length session your profits drop. I feel stuff like this would be valuable knowledge to anyone willing to take the time to record.
