Poker software

Hey guys :)

I've been looking into the depths of poker because I'm still only starting to dig deeper. ( Watching peeps like Tom Dwan). And Ive been seeing a lot of this flopzilla and range charts but don't really understand what any of it means. So does anyone know any good sites that explain it well? Also is this mainly used for online poker players? Like only when they're not playing poker or is it used during the game itself?

Thanks for any replies :)
Keep calm and bluff on ;)

1. Don't watch Tom Dwan
2. To better understand the math behind much of the game, buy and read David Sklansky's Theory of Poker.
3. To better understand range charts, google and practice are your best friends. The basic principle is that you will use this thought process and info while playing the game, whether online or live.

I agree, Dwan is a horrible example to start learning with. Gus Hansen is another bad one.

These guys are playing a super aggressive LAG. Doing this makes them very difficult players to play against, but they have spent years developing these skills and have HUGE swings.

Start developing a solid TAG style. After you have done this, start working on LAG and find which works better for you. Usually people land in the middle between guys like Dwan and Harrington.

If you're just starting, I'd say stick to either HoldemManager or Poker Tracker and really learn what all those stats mean. You can get a lot of info if you take the time to learn the software well.

its all depend on your position , stack, and what kind of player you are at table. For me I do lot of " loose to tight " depend on my position and the feeling of the hand and the community board. Tom is a unique case. Try to play like him in is situation. Not to many people can. Self control he doesn't show any tells. Like is cardiac pulse. try to control your heart speed in a pot...... Not easy

There are many reasons, but this biggest is that the way u see him playing is largely based on who he is playing. He doesn't play standard tight-agg bc the other PROS he's playing will easily exploit him. At the highest stakes, u have to be somewhat unpredictable.

It's kind of like watching the NBA to learn how to play good basketball. There are many important steps in between.

Also, there are many better pros than Tom.

1. At micros go: youtube/twitch and blackrain79. They will give you good basic knowledge and you can build from there
2. soft - any HUD is good HEM2 or PT4 do have their differences but as I see it's the metter of preference than some huge difference. I use PT4 and am happy. Use someequilator for ranges (exmp. Equilab - it's free, flopzilla i better obv. but it cost $$$), just play around to see how you 88 stands against KQs
3. Dont watch top pros either Dwan/Nergeanu/Ivey... or watch but dont try to play like them. You are(and your ops respectfully) are not at that level so not point in bluffing 2Ko from UTG for 3 streets just beacuse Moneymaker/JamieStaples did that, you will get there (maybe) at some point but not now, now it's just fishy play and you are throwing away money at people... or do that, but PM me or call me up so I can be one of them =). Stay TAG/NIT play ABC or almost ABC and you BR will grow.

Because tom dwan is crazy at the table... Don't get me wrong he is a great player and very fun to watch, but he has developed his game for years and his style of play does not suit a beginner.

there are tons of twitch feeds to watch and learn from.

I do not have the program, I rely on your visual memory and observation. In live poker, the program does not popolzueshsya but Holdem Manager I looked. Personally I did not like

In the beginning I used a different type of calculators and Holdem Manager. Who has not played for a long time, since it does not use what or Programs. I do not think that they are relevant at the lower limits. When you play against the top high regov, then perhaps important statistics.

It is not enough just to use some program. It is necessary to properly set it up, and even more important to use the data. And draw conclusions.

hello

N weekends but if it is Sunday day it may take a while to register ... but you have to keep insisting ... I had to try three times until I accept ... seems to collapse the software but I could always sign up ... maybe you did it almost at the last moment that's why you did not register:)
