Is tracking software useful for micro stakes

Hi guys,
Just wondering what the opinion is for buying software if a player is playing micro stakes? Obviously if the stakes were large, then you could justify the investment but with winnings being so low is it worth it?

Even at 2NL, your winnings should be able to justify buying tracking software, unless you are completely worthless and won't put the time into getting what you can out of tracking software. It isn't something that you will just start running alongside your game and never have to put extra time into.

I'm strictly a micro stakes player and until I joined this forum, I never even knew software like that existed. After reading up on the subject I decided to purchase PT3 and never looked back and never had regrets about it, even at these stakes I profited enough to pay for the software, so yeah I think it's worth it and then some.

Completely true and not explicitly directed toward OP. But you have no clue how many of these posts there have been with people with 1 or 2 posts that think that all they need is to download PT3 or HEM and their game will turn around overnight and they will go from bleeding money left and right to being a winning player without putting much effort into it.

I feel ya... Just funny as hell how you worded it...

I'm happy that I have been studying up on most of the important stats and learning what they mean/how to use them. I actually didn't know what VPIP, PFR, etc... was before I joined CC, which hasn't been that long. Takes patience and practice so it can be aggravating when some think they can learn hard-earned lessons tha easy way... Heck, I been stumblin' and pickin' myself up as I go... lol...

Yes, get it - use it - learn from it - it will make you a better player if you do it right.

There's also plenty of threads/articles/books on how to properly use whichever tracking software you decide to purchase. A quick search around the forum should answer any questions you may have about PT3 & HEM2.
