Hi

im kinda new to poker, I tryed to search online but im not fully sure which software its right for me.

As newbye, im reading many books, and I've some questions about softwares.

WOuld be glad if someone can reply to both questions, let me get to the point :)

1 ) I saw theres some software like pocker tracker etc. that can give you a little help with information that you cant remember all the time.
What i was looking its some kind of software that will tell me for example when im at the river, which other options are avalaible to beat my hand.

For example Ive a double pair, and the sofware tells me that can be that someone has the tris, but not scale cause is impossible based on the cards down. And stuffs like that.

I think it does this Holdem Genius but i didnt buy it yet, would like to know if he does, and in case if theres other software that does that.

2 ) any software its very helpfull and you suggest ?

Thanks a lot!

I'm not following your first question - as you get more experience, you should always be able to look at the board and quickly identify in your mind:

1. What is the nuts? On a QhJd2cAsTh board, very easy to see that any Kx hand is the nuts. On a Jd7hAd2s2d board, 22 is the nuts.
2. What is the relative strength of my hand in relation to the nuts, action, etc? 2pr is not a good hand on the first board, since it's very easy for someone to have gotten to the river w a K. 77 is a very good hand in the second hand - it's pretty difficult for someone to be holding 22, AA, or JJ, the only hands that beat us.

So having software to identify this would be a moot point, developing hand reading skills is a key part of the game. There are a lot of hand ranking charts available, you may want to search the internet for one of those.

Second question - Get pokerstove and play w it (search internet).

Overall, skim the forums, there are several discussions of several software tools, practice, and see what looks interesting. gl!

I use holdem indicator. It shows a lot, percentage of improvement on turn or river. It shows percentage of Ev, Winning odds, pot odds, Vpip, pfr,3bet,steal, af, wsd/w. when i bought it over a year ago it was $55. Not as good as Hem or PT3 but for a beginner it does a lot.

Check out www.propokertools.com , which has an equity calculator for Omaha (i.e., plug in hands and boards, it tells you your chances of winning at showdown). It's not something you use in game, though, it's for study outside of the game.

Both HEM and PT3 have Omaha modules that you can use on a trial basis, check out their websites.

You may want to read up on Omaha (google, there are a lot of good articles on the internet) rather than look for software that will tell you whether or not you have the nuts. fwiw, I'm not aware of any such software (but then again, I also think it's a waste of time, so...).

I have Tournament Indicator which is very helpful. Google it and you will find it easily. If you play enough hands on a particular site then you get the licence for free also.

It tells you what your M is (and eveyine else) and also gives an idea of pot odds & potential odds versus other hand ranges.

It also flashes a very helpful 'YOU HAVE THE NUTS' message if infact you do have the best hand.

If you are needing to know this then I suggest you read and learn through freerolls etc until you have a basic grasp of the game. If you are unable to determine the strength of your hand you will leak cash like water through your fingers.

Recap, look online, get the software for free and don't play any high value games until you know the basics :)

Good Luck

additional: IMO omaha is more difficult to get right, I would get the basics right learning Holdem (there is so much information out there) then branch out into Omaha.
