Okay so I have the trail for the wiz. Sometimes I like to just sit and quiz myself over and over for about 100 hands. I put the skill level of the quiz to about medium level and the opponet model at random. What does anyone and everyone think about using these quizs to improve shove/call/fold moves?? Right night I average about 70% on the quiz and I feel i should be a at maybe 95% honestly. Is there any value for this?

It helps you if you understand the strategy behind it. Knowing not only when to push/fold, but why. The more situations that you put yourself through and do analysis on as to why you should be making those moves, the better you will become in real life situations when you come to them. Just going through 100 hands as fast as you can clicking Shove, Call or Fold is probably not going to help you out all that much. Just as with any 3rd party poker software, you need to invest time into it in order to really get something out of it.

aw thanks buddy jesus lol. hah I realize that running hand histories is probably better but I also look at hand histories and it assumes certain thigns about my villians which i dont agree with really. running the quizs and looking at them throughly is what I have been trying to do with each hand. Im not just going okay okay okay. But if you are taking the quiz often and looking at it with some level of seriousness is it effective then?

It's the bible of learning to review games.

And yes, the Wiz quiz can be beneficial, however it has some obvious flaws. The ranges provided are hardly realistic, so you could be training yourself to play badly in certain situations. As long as you understand these ranges are not realisitic, it works just fine.

Long story short, if you are not familiar, don't use it.

A better tool is "ICM trainer". It actually uses NASH, however for calling ranges, it's really quite close to optimal. Shoving ranges, not so much. Heads up, it's close to a perfect training tool for push/fold.
