This is a discussion on sharkscope data within the online poker forums, in the Poker Software & Tools section; I have a question, if anyone can help me, about the difference between total ROI and AV ROI. I saw a post in the forum
I have a question, if anyone can help me, about the difference between total ROI and AV ROI. I saw a post in the forum about this, which said that AV ROI was the average return, but I did not understand it, if anyone could help me. obg. (follow the data to help). Av ROI: 35.2% Total ROI: 47.5%
Total ROI: 47.5%
If you add up the total of all your profit and divided by the total of all your buy-ins this is the number you get. I think this one is pretty straightforward.
Average ROI: 35.2%
If you added the individual ROI from each tournament together and divide by the number of tournaments, this is what you get.
So for an example, say you played a $100 buy-in tournament and you cashed for $500 (so a $400 dollar profit which would be a 400/100 = 400% ROI) and you play a $1 buy-in tournament and you didn't cash (so a $1 loss which would be a -1/1 = -100% ROI).
Your Total ROI would be: (total profit)/(total buy-in) = (400-1)/(100+1) = 395%
Your Average ROI would be: [ROI from 1st tournament+ROI from 2nd tournament]/2
= [400%+(-100%)]/2 = 150%
