On a couple of occasions, I've seen the PR number higher than VP, which didn't make sense to me at first.

The only thing that I can see that would cause this is the player is raising pre-flop in the big blind quite often.

Is that right or is there something else affecting that anomaly?

Sounds like something wrong, PFR can never be higher than VPIP because every time you raise you also VPIP.

I sometimes get the same situation Jamie is referring to but just chalk it up to a gltch of some kind knowing it can never be never.

In PT3, VPIP is the # of hands you put money in / # of hands dealt. In PT4 it's the # of hands you put money in / # of hands you could put money in (which is all hands minus walks).
In PT3 PFR is the # of hands you raised in preflop at any point / # of hands dealt. In PT4 it's the # of hands you raised in preflop at any point / # of hands you could raise in preflop (so it excludes walks and open shoves).

Thats not correct, you must also account for the times where the BB is walked. To see a comparative analysis of PT4's VPIP calculations methods which compensates for walks vs the old way which did not compensate for walks use PokerTracker's scatter graph. Use VPP in the X axis, and VPIP Legacy Version (PT3's method) on the Y Axis. We advise a sample size of 1,000 hands or greater for accuracy, but samples of 500 hands or less may start to converge... depends on the aggressiveness of the games you play in typically.

It is possible to have a higher PFR than VPIP, but these situations are rare and usually only occur when the sample size is small.
