Hi,
I have been using PT4 on trial for about 2 weeks and decided to try HM2 to see how my stats compared on each program, whether they were the same, ease of finding, difference in stats available etc

However, it seems that once I have imported my hand histories to PT4 they are no longer stored on my computer and available for use in HM2. If this is correct, how can I get them for use in other programs such as SNGWIZZ and Leakbuster etc?

Other problems I have found with the two programs was that HM2 connected straight to my pokerstars account (without me asking it to) but will not directly connect to 888 and I have to set a manual import.

Overall, having never used a poker client such as these before, PT4 was WAY easier to set up and was running in games within about 30 mins. HM2 on the other hand took over two hours just to find the right password for the"postqles" program - which is "dbpass" should you have the same problem.

Interested in answers to my first question and any discussions on the two programs is equally welcome.

Cheers

The reason that you have had problems with HM2 is precisely because you have used PT4 before.
HM2 had trouble with the password because you need to tell it the password that PT4 set up.
dbpass is PT4's PW, which you can continue to use, but don't blame HM2 for not knowing that!
If you had installed them the other way around then PT4 would have had similar problems trying to use the PT4 default PW and finding that it had already been set by HM2 - Standard

The files that you require for importing have not been removed from your computer. They have been archived by PT4 to another folder.
iirc they're in AppData>Local>PokerTracker>Processed (or something similar)
You can use Folder import to import all your HH's directly from there into HM2

Hope this helps
Good Luck

Thanks for the help, unfortunately I can't find the hand history files in any poker tracker folders. Any idea where they might be?

OK. I can't be sure, but I don't think it will be in the PokerTracker program folder
I think it will be in C:/Documents and Settings/[YourUserName]/(possibly) ApplicationData (or more likely I would think,)/ Local Settings/(Application Data)/ PokerTracker4/Processed...... somewhere around there.

If you still have PT4 installed and running you can go to import options or import set-up to find out which folder it has moved the processed files to.

Check our faqs to make sure your poker client is setup properly - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/711/Pacific+Poker

...

This is because you installed PT4 first and they use a different default password for postgresql than we do.

PT3's default name/password is - postgres/dbpass
HM's default name/password is - postgres/postgrespass

Thanks Fozzy,

I looked at the 888 link before and that is a different system to the one I use. My 888 is blue and doesn't have the same "settings" menu. Not sure who is using the oldest, me or the one in your link.

Also, sorry to mention it but when I followed the link to try to fix the postgres problem I was shown a video that explained how to fix bugs etc but never with a quick explanation on how to change the password. As many people like myself will probably be trying both PT and HM then perhaps this simple solution should be made clearer at the time of download.

I must say though that both programs appear to have excellent customer service when responding to problems, PT in their own community forum and RDB here.

Cheers

Did you figure out how to configure the 888 client?
If PT4 is importing the hands you need to use the same path in HM2 but you can't use both programs at the same time as they move the handhistory files to an archive folder.
HM2 to c:\hm2archive
and pT4 to a Processed subfolder in its installation folder.

I haven't yet, I was just going to take them from the PT4 processed file.
As I've still got 10 days left with PT I will concentrate on that one for the time being as it takes a lot of effort to get used to each program.
Incidentally though, is there a way of typing in a particular hand, say AQ and seeing all the stats for just that particular combo? That would be useful.
