Can anybody tell me exactly why Pokertracker HUD won't work on Rush/Zoom tables on the Mac?

I had just accepted that as fact and dealt with it until now, but I have just discovered that the iHoldemindicator product has a functioning HUD.

So now I'm a little more frustrated by this...

However, the iHoldemindicator does require me to go into System Preferences and allow the indicator software to "control my computer".. maybe that has something to do with it??

Does Pokertracker have a rep in this forum?

I have posted this question in the Pokertracker 4 forums as well. Dying for an answer.. or of course a fix!

Unfortunately there is nothing to "fix", we cannot determine the names of the players seated at the start of each new hand in OSX with accuracy, there is nothing we can do at this stage without the help of pokerstars (see below for details).

We tried many different methods, screen scraping and/or OCR are the methods used by other companies but in our tests of these methods we found the results to be too unreliable to consider this a viable method. There cannot be any room for error, imagine if OCR detected the wrong characters and you saw the wrong stats for an opponent - incorrect results can be very costly and therefore its not something we are willing to risk. We were able to accomplish fast poker HUDs in Windows due to accessibility within the OS, but OSX is built very differently - the same level of accessibility is not available in Apple's OS.

To solve this problem we approached every network that has a fast poker option on OSX and requested that they provide a dedicated seat positioning file which provides seating data at the start of the hand. So far both 888 and OnGame have agreed with us that a positioning file is important, we hope that someday PokerStars and FullTilt will also agree to provide this file or an equivalent API for us to gain access to player seating in fast poker games. We also had this discussion with partypoker, I can share that they expressed interest in our request but that is all we know at this time. Hopefully someday all online poker rooms will provide seat positioning data, slowly this is beginning to occur - in fact we are consulting with two new networks right now and both agree that this data is necessary for the health of the network.

On the bright side, if you prefer to play fast poker games and cannot wait, we do support 888 tournaments and OnGame cash games on OSX with 100% accuracy.

Good point. I can't speak to the reliability of iHoldemindicator's HUD, just that it appears to work.

Ok thanks.
