good or bad. i was thinking about checking one out but i am putting a lot of time in trying to be a really solid player. i usually play at least 8 hours a day and i am worried if i use one of these it will slow my improvement down a bit. i figure it is better for me to find their betting patterns and timing to figure them out. i think that is how i will improve faster.

am i wrong, should i be using these tools??

I'd say it depends on how many tables you play. I use PT3 and when I multi-table it's usually only 4-6 tables. That still leaves plenty of time to notice player habits that I want to make notes on.

Couple the notes with PT3 stats and I usually have a fairly decent handle on playing styles.

It will aid your improvement IMO, it will help you figure out players and their tendencies quicker. Note taking is also very important to figure out how people play draws/nuts etc

IMO if you want a decent trial use PT3 but if you want to go ahead and purchase I would use HEM. I think the PT3 trial is 60 days.

I dont have a reply just a ? .What is that traking he way you play or the way other people playy at your table . If it shows you were you game needs improvement thats good I would do that. If it tells you others bettng habits I would not it just eaisier for me to make notes.

It does both. It's a database of all hands you've played and includes all actions by all players in those hands.

The tracking software is also a very good way to keep track on you own play and your winning and losses and which games that you do best in.

Just make sure the software is allowed and compatible with the site(s) you play on.

(because the software can be use at the site, it may still not be allowed by the site and that way you could lose access to your account and money).

good luck

Ok thanks I never heard of anything like that. How and were do you get something like that. Does it just give you hand stats or is it more detailed?

You get many information by those tools. They are very useful!
Try them and you will notice that you can see the playing style of your opponents much faster and better!

The two most common are PokerTracker 3 (PT3) and HEM. Both can be downloaded for a free trial - you can try them out and see. Google both - I think PT3's trial is for a longer time period than HEM.

They provide an enormous amount of information on virtually everything about your play and about how your opponents played their hands, and your profitability.
