Hi,
I am trying to become better at poker and take it a bit more seriously. I know this question is probably on this forum somewhere but I couldn't find it so I just wanted to ask, Do you think it's worth a beginner investing in a poker Hud? I have seen a bit about these and was thinking about HoldEm Manager 2. Is it worth buying for a player who only plays for around an hour or two a day?
Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Poker tracking software with a HUD isn't a necessity but it will help your game. You will stats on your opponents plus tools to easily track your play and review tricky hands. I would invest in poker tracking software most definitely.

I didn’t buy a HUD for over two years of playing and I regret not getting one sooner. I think it’s definitely possible to play well without a HUD but I the tool helps a lot. I use PokerTracker4 now and it has been incredibly helpful. The HUD stats have allowed me to gage how opponents play on different streets well even if I’m playing against a lot of players at once. The tracker had also let me understand which situations I’m weaker at to help me improve my own play. I’d recommend getting one even if you only play for a few hours a week.

I am very much a recreational player but bought a HUD within weeks of starting to play. I think it was one of the best purchases I ever made.

I got it free by going to HoldEm Manager site and signing up to one of their deals. If you don't yet have an account with party poker then that's the one I suggest signing up with as they are doing very well at the moment. They also have offers connected to other poker clients. Good luck!

Definitely I recommend poker traker 4 ... it is a support software and it helps you a lot to improve your game ... you can even create your own HUD to your liking ... and generate a series of information and reports so that you can analyze your hands and correct errors in your game ..

I would certainly invest in poker tracking software. It's well worth having the additional information not to mention an invaluable learning tool. Worth every penny and highly recommended.

Happy grinding!!!

By itself, HM2 does not make you a successful poker player. However, if you want to achieve success in this game and think globally, in the long run, you must use the entire possible arsenal of tools, which means that Holdem Manager will sooner or later be on your computer.

What is HM2 for?

To track your winnings and losses;
To collect statistics about your game and about the game of your opponents;
For the competent analysis of the collected database;
To improve by finding flaws in your game, learning new strategies, analyzing the impact on profit of various factors (from the time and duration of the game session, to the specific limits of the game);
To switch to multi-tabling and to automate the action in the game for many tables;
For planning of game sessions;
To find the most profitable gaming tables;
For the liberation of the rich "fish" from the yoke of their financial well-being;
To synchronize your notes with rivals;
For the profitability of your game and this is the most important!

if you're playing a cash game, then you definitely need it and in tournaments you can without it.

Thank you all for your advise. I play mostly on a Mac and didn't realise HoldEm Manager was only for Windows so I downloaded Poker Tracker 4's 30 day free trial over the weekend. I have already seen a couple of flaws in my game using the analysis, so I think this is really going to help me improve. Thanks again guys 😎
