Is it ethical to use an odds calculator when playing tournaments$ Or is it just up to each individual as to their preference?

Depends. I know pokerstars prohibits such tools (like pokerstove). Not all sites have such restrictive policies. But, I would say that allowed or not, they aren't really ethical. The idea is that you should know the odds yourself. On the third hand, some sites even provide tools which do this (Carbon was giving away Hold'em Indicator for free, which does exactly that). I like that they at least attempted to even the field for those players who wouldn't, otherwise, know about trackers or odds calculators or how to get/install one.

At the same time, I don't know that most would be useful, unless you truly don't know what you're doing. I almost never "used" the odds component of Hold'em Indicator to guide or change my play. In any case, you benefit most from learning how to do it yourself.

*Stars allows Hold'em Indicator with a limited subset of working features. Not sure which ones, because I have never used it there.

Using a tool to analyze poker more deeply, I believe that 80% of players use
Pokerstars forbids many of these tools, but now I ask, if you have another computer and open these tools on this computer, and you play pokerstars on a second computer, will anyone know that you are using this tool, or I wrong?

You're asking if you can get away with cheating. You probably could get away with it, in that specific situation. But, you're still a cheater.

I don't think that's the right question, every poker site decides which software it allows or not, if you are using software allowed by your pokersite there is nothing unethical about it.

Most live places do not allow it, and quite frankly in a live situation, knowing your odds and being able to calculate things in your head is part of the game and I'd consider it cheating.

Online is a completely different animal. And, if your particular home site allows it, then it's not cheating and if you're not using every available tool to you, then you're not being very smart.

calculators are totally important in the selection of groups of strong hands. They are very good to study a certain hand and with a certain ability it is possible to calculate in the time of the hand the approximate equations. And totally ethical because they are accessible to all I would recommend that you calculate at least your initial hands to get an idea of how profitable you are being this I consider basic
