Poker Edge is banned by some (most?) sites I think.

HEM2 or PT3 are the nuts.

Get rid of PE unless you want to get rid of your roll.

+1.

My personal experience with HEM2 on my Mac wasn't the best though, was lagging slightly so opted for PT3.Cant go wrong with either, top 2 in the market.

It uses data that you did not collect yourself. PokerTracker, HEM, etc only use the data from hands that you played in, that is why they are allowed by poker rooms.

This is also why it is extremely frowned upon to use bought HH's as well, because you did not play in the hands, therefore you are gaining an advantage without ever even playing a single hand against someone.

If your site bans it and you get caught using it, they can shut your account and take your $$$

PT3 really isn't hard to use if you put a small amount of effort in

You won't get caught using it so I wouldn't worry about that.

It's impossible to police.
That's not entirely correct.
I don't know anything about computer b.s., but do know that some sites have the ability to decipher what other programs you're running on your computer while you're playing on their site.. '&' if you're using PE it'll often get detected.
I'm also aware that PE will upgrade their software in an effort to have it go undetected but then it's a back & forth battle as sites do upgrades/fixes followed by PE doin' same, etc. etc. etc. If you check back through their forum you'll see times when they've said to proceed with caution until they come up with upgrade/fix (< this is quite awhile ago that I've checked this out so I'm not sure how it is these days).

I've also had a couple of friends (2) who've downloaded the '5day Free Trial' & then within 24hrs. have had the site contact them via email, instructing/warning them to remove PE or their account will be closed. I also had it downloaded at the time (free trial) but then uninstalled it before even using it after seeing what happened with friends.
(fwiw, there was some other program I downloaded a free trial with (I forget what the name of it now (was yrs. ago).. 'Spy something'..or 'Something Spy' & while using this I also had pokersite contact me about it, letting me know I'd need to uninstall it if I wanted to continue playing on their site)

This was my general impression of the situation as well. That poker sites do have the ability to scan your system and see what else you are running while logged into their site. Now, I agree that there is a difference between "having the ability to" and actually enforcing it, but I just never felt like taking the chance. That's why I was surprised to hear Blue say that, definitively, you won't get caught. Haven't really stayed up-to-date on this, so I won't contradict Blue, but I still feel there is at least a chance you may be caught.

Take my definitevely with a pinch of salt. I had absolutely no idea that they could detect it. I've seen several people openly say they use a HUD on stars and I've also got a friend who has never had an e-mail about it so just presumed they had no way of enforcing it.
