Does anyone know if it's possible to import a HEM2 database from one computer to a PT4 database on a different computer? I bought PT4 at the new year as HEM2 pretty much doesn't run on my laptop. When I set PT4 up it pretty much filled the laptop hard drive which only contains a very small portion of my HEM2 database. My aim is to remove HEM 2 from the laptop and use PT4 instead. PT4 is much more stable and reliable on my laptop but lacks a lot of the features and functions of HEM2. My idea is to use HEM2 on my desktop but try and keep the database synced with the PT4 database on my laptop. Is this possible?

It's probably possible but I'm not sure how. Moved to Software so you'll be more likely to get the answer you need.

Export all the hands from your database, then reimport them to PT4. I did it with about 400k hands from pt4 to pt4 but the concept is the same

No idea how to sync the two other than manual import/exports

The main reason I asked this was because when I first setup PT4 on my laptop it invited me to import my HEM2 database that was already on my laptop and so I did. However, my main database is on my PC and has around 2 million + hands in it and so it'd probably be easier to be able to import directly from the HEM2 db rather than tons and tons of exporting. If it comes down to it though I'll do it the slow way... lol..My PC died on New Years and I've just spent 3 days of solid Hand Importing of hand histories from pokerstars (who were good enough to send me my entire hand histories) so was looking for a quicker way. Thanks for your replies though!

Iv never tried but if you can export the entire database as a file compact and then import that it should be easy, just go export database as it will work. I didn't know they could read each other tho as iv only tried it with pt4 to pt4, but if they post use postgrsl then no reason it won't work

you could always just copy your HMarchive to a flash drive and then import off the flash drive into PR4.do it in smallish chunks and then datavase maintenance between batches as import will go a lot quicker. did an import myself a couple of days ago and after 450,000 hands pt4 import had slowed to a crawl. stopped and restarted it and the rest went in quickly.

Thanks guys but I've just been playing for the last few hours and had an epiphany!!! The way to do this is that PT4 will read your HEM2 DB... so what I need to do is install PT4 on my desktop (Am about to do this) then read the HEM2 DB into PT4 ... then back it up... transfer the backup file to my laptop and restore from this backup to the PT4 on my laptop.... simple ain't it?... feel like such a dunce for not sussing it earlier
