I use one. Wondered how many people use a HUD, or a tracker, or nothing?

Of course, if you use your screen name on here as well as your poker client, don't say you use one of the banned ones.....

Personally I don't see the problem with HUD systems. They are after all available to everyone......

In sng's I don't bother turning the HUD on until I'm close to the ft. Before the ante's spots are usually so simple that turning the HUD on just confuses you. In mtt's I turn it on when the ante's start up.

Poker Edge 5. Try it out, theres a 5 day free trial.

For me it makes a difference as the games I play are fast, so you need to be playing hard from the off. Using it means I know the players round the table and can see the fish, mice, TAGs and so on straight away....

Up to you of course, but Poker Edge is on many sites' banned list.... Just sayin.... If you decide to use it, and get caught, you'll likely be banned.

The problem with some software is that it collects info from players/games you have not played in and gives you an unfair advantage. Trackers/Huds that don't use illegal datamining techniques generally ARE permitted; those that violate this stipulation are generally banned.

If you're concerned about such things, check you own particular sites list of banned software before using Poker Edge...

I do know that, btui still use it. PE5 stop you launching it when sites update their software until they can make sure your use can't be tracked by the site in question.

Think of it like this though. Have you ever been playing live and someone you know has told you about a play or something that someone who wasn't at your table has done? I've seen it discussed at wsop's on TV between Pros, so how is a HUD any different......

PE5 even changes the stats when the table numbers change later on to take into account how people change their play.

Yes, of course, I've seen it done. You're trying to compare live play and online play, though, and the two are worlds different. Online play, at least for most players, lives and dies based upon stats. "Stories" are part and parcel of live play and you're never really sure they are anything more than just that, anyway.

The more reputable trackers/HUDs collect these stats the honest way and are, therefore, permitted. There are others out there, though, who go above and beyond and deliberately cross into cheating territory by datamining illegally. You'd have to be foolish to be an online player and think sites that do that don't exist and that a certain percentage of players will use them. Maybe they'll get caught, maybe they won't. It's just like the decision you make when you decide to cheat/do something dishonest IRL. Maybe you'll get caught, maybe you won't.... Really it just comes down to personal choice/ethics.

Ban OP, imo. Using PE means he's a cheating scumbag.

Agree. Using PE is cheating, pure and simple. OP stated he is aware that using it is cheating, but still decides to do it.

So how does Pro Shark work? I'm not delighted in having my stats available, especially my bankroll

Don't know much about ProShark. Never used it, never even been to their page. Some sites have the ability to opt-in/opt-out from being included in stats they report, but even this is usually futile as there are always new sites popping-up. If someone wants to find your stats badly enough, they'll likely find a way. This is one reason why the Bovada format (anonymous players) actually has some appeal. They have effectively blocked all the cheater sites from collecting info on their players by going this route. The downside is it punishes the players who would just use legitimate tools, too, such as PT4/HM2.

I only heard about it coz I was playing on 888 and someone started calling out peoples stats.
Just type a players name in and the site they use and you get tons of info.

Well, I'd check the TOS of whatever site you're playing at. They all have a list of banned software. There is also usually a distinction between banned at all times and banned for use during play. PE is generally banned at all times, in any form.

ProShark may be outright banned, banned during play, and/or perfectly legal depending upon the sites TOS and how Proshark collects it's data. It's always best to check before downloading/purchasing a new poker App. Whether or not you choose to follow the rules and/or accept the consequences if caught cheating is up to you, of course. For the record, I'd have absolutely zero problem reporting someone that I knew was using cheater software, but that's just me.

Check your sites TOS. I'm not sure if it's legal to use/be logged-in to their site while also logged into your poker client. Maybe it is; maybe it isn't. Only way to know for sure is to check the poker site's rules.

Yeah, no worries. Also OP did ask what anyone used. I assume Top Shark qualifies.
