How many casual online players use a HUD?

Hey everyone, I play online a little bit, but I prefer live poker, usually home games. So I feel that using a HUD would not help me improve my live game skills, so I don’t use one, I also don’t multi table. Does anyone feel that If I used a HUD to give me an advantage in my online play, could I still improve my live game play? I mainly use online to scratch the poker bug, and work on my odds and what not. Curious what everyone thinks.

I use a free trial HUD and just reinstall frequently. It helps me fix a lot of my leaks that I wouldn't have seen if I played without a HUD.

I guess if I use the info from it, it can help find leaks, good point. What free trial one do you use? Is it possible to get any on my ipad? Or do those not exist?

I belive a just a hud (so the thing that appear over players at your table cause that's the hud rest of the application is a tracker) can help you realise what stats are important to look for.. how important are they and can help you to realise what to look for in live games.
Like i do not know what is your thinking process live but online the most important stats are vpip and pfr. So if you get used to how these 2 stats would idealy look for your opponents online you could transition it to live.

I play with one and my trial just ended. I will definitely purchase PT4 because not only the HUD but statistics tracking is important to me. I have a few hundred hands against people in the games I play so knowing their tendancies helps along with notes I take.:stupido:

Best of all to use HUD in cash games. For the correct stats you need to play 30-50 hands with opponents. In MTT tournaments it realy help you at late stage.

I've tried them and didn't like them.
As you say they don't exist in 'real' live poker so it is a shame they have become so integral as a paid addon to online poker.
In the games I play I don't feel too disadvantaged without a HUD though because it doesn't take long to see how opponents at a table are currently playing and by paying attention also verify that in a way the HUDs don't by observing the hands displayed at showdown.
I think learning to pay attention to what is going on at the table is more useful for both online and live game play than trying to rely on some statistical numbers.

I fee I can get a good feel for how others play, and adapt well to that as well. The only thing from a HUD software I’m thinking will be nice now, will be to see my own frequencies and see if I’m opening too wide, or to narrow in certain spots. Thanks for all the info everyone!

You have a lot of poker HUD choices for pokerstars, most HUD work there. I suggest trying the free trials of each software to find out which one fits for you and your budget.

They are computer programs that help your see all the statistics of your poker playing skills. The ones I downloaded are Holdem Manager and Poker tracker, they are both free demos but I have not actually got them up and running yet.

I started using one for tourneys, but I didn't like all the clutter on the screen of my laptop. I usually one play one tourney at a time, so I haven't used it in a while. But I should probably try again and learn from it.

o ok thanks for the info on this hud I'm have to look in to this sounds like I might benefit from it and if its free why not with one would u guys recommend more?

You don't get much for free nowadays , and you sure wont get an HUD ! At least not more than a few trial days .

I never use I hud because it does not look good with all the clutter on my laptop!

Playing 1 table as a casual player its probably not needed but I'd say if your multi tabling 3 or more regularly I'd say its very useful although the site I make the most profit from doesn't allow huds and I always play 5-8 tables at a time so they're certainly not essential.

I certainly find HUD useful. If you have played 30 to 50 hands on one table you can easily see by statistics which player is tight, which is loose and which is aggressive. In particular situation when you need to decide to call or not to him this information can be quite useful. Using hud does not have any downsides - you can always shut it down or do not look at the statistics. Also it is not true thatt here is no free hud - i recommend easy poker hud (google it). It is completely free (no trial or ads) and gives you the most important parameters needed. I recommend using it and if you find it useful you can always go to one of the more serious huds like holdem manager or poker tracker or whatever else you want.

Are there any poker site prohibit to use HUD or i can use for every site when i play?

I do not use HUD ... I think that it will not interfere, but will only help in the game ..
I plan to use HUD in the future ...:captain:

There are sites that prohibit hud use. Pokerstars and 888 permit it and easy poker hud works with these. For other sites i am not sure - you should check but anyway easy poker hud mentions just these 2 sites as working with the HUD.

If you're a casual player and only playing for fun like 1 tourney per day i would never go for the HUD, but if u track ppl with notes and everything i suggest you to play with the HUD because u know how people act and stuffs like that.
