how does the poker stat tracking software actually gets its stats???

hi guys!!!
I am looking for an answer to a confusion of mine and i hope i can find my answer here:)....hay do any body how does the poker stat tracking software actually gets its stats???

The poker sites will automatically send you hand histories if you ask them.

The tracker looks in the folder for new HHs and churns the information and updates the database.

Or possibly magic.

It imports the hand histories from the poker sites.


I believe this is wrong. PT3 in general picks up the Hand Histories as they are written to my Hard Drive. These are written to my hard drive (or yours) after ever hand.

Check your Hard drive/program files/ FullTilt/ Hand History folder. If you have a tracker, it is probably empty as PT3 (and maybe HEM) move those history's to it's own 'processed' folder where they will last forever , if not it will be full of HH's for the last XX days (typically 30 days, if memory serves...).

I didn't mean that it actually takes them from the poker sites, I meant that it uses the hand histories that the poker sites save on your computer.
