I have just downloaded the hm2 trial..when playing a mtt the stats reset to zero when I moved tables. Is this correct or am I missing something ?

That's normal. Hero stats are always tracked per table.

Another question..how do i move the position of the hud stats on the table..? the top left info box covers the stats of the top left player on 9 handed.

Resetting stats: The hero stats will always start at zero and reset to 0... they'll also reset if you're moved to a new table.
This is done by design so you can track your image at each table.
If you want to see your overall stats, go to the reports tab, or replay a hand in the replayer.

Moving stat boxes: use hold right-click on a HUD panel to move them to a better position
