"Poker software" isn't frowned upon, provided it's legit, legally allowed software according to the TOS of the sites you play at. Virtually all sites have lists and descriptions of the types of software both prohibited and allowed.
Hold'em Indicator is allowed by all sites that I'm aware of. And it can be an okay tool for beginning players who have trouble counting their outs and pot
odds at the table, and who may be a bit overwhelmed by more comprehensive trackers. But as far as tracking goes, it's extremely basic. If you're serious about poker, beyond the basic recreational level and the penny stakes, you will be far better served by real tracking software like HEM or PT3.
