Starting over - what was messed up? Your HUD or your Camtasia recording of the HUD?

my HUD was messed up, while playing. My coach wants a vid of me playing a set of tables, so thats what I was doing. It was showing correct stats for one game only, one game showed no stats at all, and a few games showed CRAZY stats, like at 150/300 showed starts for 0 games on a couple of tables (everything was like the HUD is on an unknown player in the first hand, all stats are blank). I didnt do a screenshot, sadly. I also stopped camtasia and didnt save to try to get my stats back. I eventually had only 2 tables left, and then all was OK, but after closing camtasia.

I have recorded sets before and had no problem,. I will try again later, after re starting my PC and see if its better, and if not Ill do a screen shot and post here.

If you ever have any kind of IT issue. Restart the PC. DO this before even thinking of posting as 90% of problems will be fixed by a restart. I wont bore you as to why this is.. but having worked in IT for many years, the first thing any IT bod says to someone when they have an IT issue, is

Have you rebooted?

Yes!

Are you sure

Yes!

Would you like to try it again right now.

OK

........LONG WAIT........

Oh it seems to have fixed itself.

No problems! (and I know you didn't reboot it like you told me you had :D )

Camtasia is a massive hog on the video card in my experience. On one of my older XP computers the HUD actually disappears on the actual recorded content, even though I can see it while recording!

You may want to try CamStudio for your recording which is a light-weight compared to Camtasia, and its free to use. Forever.

Another option would be to just use the HEM replayer to record your session OR if you have an external webcam or video camera you can point it at your screen.

The HUD dissapeared because you hadn't got "capture layered windows" selected.

Yes it will probably hog resources on any machine still running XP because chances are that machine is practically an antique by now.
