Custom Poker Software

Hi,

I am looking into a final year university project, doing poker analysis software using live data.

Is there any developer tools given by leading poker sites that would allow me to access live poker data about the hand the user currently is/has partaken in?

I know lots of sites give post-hand logs like 888poker that I use

No, the only way this can be done is by scraping the screen or pulling the dealer chat from the text box if the site has that, which is how the old indicator products used to do it, not sure if it's still how they are doing it though.

What is the reason it needs to be live?

I built a screen scraper App sometime ago for 888 (mainly for calculating odds on the fly). So thats definitely one way of doing it.

I think pokerstars writes to the hand history file 'live' as the hand is played out. Not entirely sure though, that was a while ago.

Doesn't do that anymore. Would be cool if it did, it'd be a easy way to add instant odd calculations to my lil HUD app. Being a web app, can't use screen scraping either.
