Well, I should clarify it doesn't necessarily replace PokerStove, but is a much more in-depth tool that can also export to Stove for equity calculations.

Over at DTB, one of the members developed this App and it's pretty popular over there. Coaches have started using it in their videos and we've had some good forum discussions around it. The grouping feature is particularly nice.

I haven't seen it mentioned here at CC and searching this forum turned up no hits, so figured I'd give it a plug here.

There's a free version and an enhanced paid version that costs $25. And no, I get nothing for pimping it, I'm just getting the word out to my CC peeps. ;)

Thanks Dave. I'm downloading it now. So do you know what is different between the paid and free versions?

As I recall, only two groups are available for use in the free version. Paying unlocks the other two, so you can do full street-by-street analysis, narrowing ranges as you get to the river.

EDIT: From http://combonator.com/buy ...

The Combonator is free, however by purchasing a license you unlock additional advanced features like:
  • All 4 groups unlocked
  • Hand Values tab for board texture analysis.
  • Email Support
And many more pro features are planned soon, including undo/redo, saving and restoring, and advanced hand value selection and output. Purchase now to get free upgrades!

Haha, yea I actually ended up reading that page after I downloaded and posted that before. I like it, and I feel like it could definitely be a (almost) replacement for PokerStove

Bump to mention the upcoming 1.4 update as announced today by the author "Hood" over on DTB (he's also a LHE coach there now). With equity calculations built-in for the next release, rather than the current method of exporting to PokerStove or Slice, it's on its way to really becoming a one-stop analysis tool.

I went ahead and bought the Pro version today ahead of the planned price increase.

Version 1.4 is right around the corner. Not 1 but 2 awesome/amazing new features for registered users: equity calculations and full undo/redo file history support. BOOM!

The equity calcs opens the door for many awesome new features: You can automatically get hero's equity vs any range or group selected (and once the calculation is complete, changes are shown instantly in the output as you make changes). Here's how it's looking:

In the future these capabilities will allow for a lot of new output/analysis tabs and it also allows for really interesting auto-selection features. Undo/redo support will be fully featured multi undo/redo and I hope to get in with a file history tab so you can overview all the changes you've made and jump back to a specific point in time.

Both these pretty much feature complete, I'm just polishing the edges and running tests.

Along with these big changes there's a bunch of smaller improvements and fixes, including some bugs with draws autoselection that was introduced in v1.3.

To cover some of the costs of all this extra development time there will be an increase in license cost; however i'm sure you'll agree these new features still make The Combonator an insta-snap buy! Everyone already with a license will get free upgrades to v1.4 and all future updates. So if you've yet to purchase a pro license, now is the time: get in on $25 price before things go up in a few days. GOGOGOGOGO.

Of course there will and always will be a fully functioning free combonator for all your cheapskates, so bug fixes and smaller improvements will be available in v1.4 free version.

I watched some of the tutorial videos, and was impressed with the grouping and auto-selection features. I'd like to play around with that. Unfortunately, I use a mac, and wasn't able to get this to run through wine. Have any mac users had any luck?
