Anyone got Hold'em Manager for free?

They have this offer, that if you sign through their link to a bunch of sites, including full tilt for instance, deposit a bit and make the required number of points (125 on full tilt) you get a token to buy it.

Has anyone achieved that, is it easy/hard or is it not worth the trouble to play for?

Typical affiliate bonus offer to get something free. Not hard at all to clear, when I first started playing online I got Hold'em Indicator free with a SportsBook signup, but once I cleared the minimum hands to use it elsewhere, I pretty much stopped playing there.

As much as I love HEM and want to support them, if you do this instead of signing up for rakeback, you'll hate yourself later. You got an $80 piece of software for free, but forever miss out on hundreds/thousands of potential RB money if you stick to playing any volume. Especially at micro stakes, where without RB it's very hard to be profitable due to the inordinate amount of rake you pay.

So I'd suggest you forget the freebie affiliate offers for FullTilt and go for RB instead. Maybe if it's to another site that you never intend to play at once you clear the minimum points/hands, it might be worthwhile, but with a big site like FT where you will likely settle if you stay in the game long, you want to get that RB. It'll make that free $80 look like chump change by comparison.

One word of warning if you intend to sign up for RB: clear all your browser cookies first, especially if you've clicked on any affiliate links (like the HEM link) while just looking around. Even if you didn't signup, if the affiliate cookie is still in place, your signup could actually be directed to that affiliate instead of the RB affiliate, and you're screwed.

^^ Good advice. Do not do it with a rakeback room - its just a waste in the long run cuz u'll miss out on all that rake.

I was actually considering doing it via Everest poker, as they dont offer rakeback anyway. So once you clear the bonus you can move on elsewhere (to a rakeback room).

Good advice thanks. I am indeed looking to change sites, or complement the one I'm on now - entraction network - but I don't know if it will be FT, PS, PP etc.

Is there anyway to get into a rake back program if you already have an account with say pokerstars or partypoker?

And are those accounts ever removed, if you don't come back in over a year and have no money in them

Pokerstars doesn't do RB at all (at least not conventional rakeback), but no you can't create new accounts. Sometimes you can get RB on an existing account if you did not sign up through an affiliate.
