If you're playing on BetOnline using HM2/PT4, BetOnline Card Catcher is pretty helpful in tracking player hands. You can also use it to run a poker HUD since HM2/PT4 don't support HUDS for now.

BTW, if you're looking for a good all-around poker HUD software, DriveHUD is the most versatile & user-friendly (check out John A's post in this forum to). There are actually plenty of good poker software floating around but so far this is one of the best that I know.

The first tool everyone should become very familiar with in my opinion is Equi-lab, or Poker Stove. Basically they are equity calculators. Poker-Stove is free to use. Equi-lab has a very good 'free" version and they have a paid version which does much more in the way of analyzing flops and how often your hand will connect with certain board textures. Flopzilla also does this and many people recommend it. I do not have experience with Flopzilla. These are "advanced" tools. The basic "free" equity tools are mandatory.

I think a database manager- DriveHUD, PokerTracker4, and Holdem manager2 are most popular but there are many more out there. This tool is another must have. To improve your poker skills you need to be able to go back and evaluate your hands and the actions you took.

ICMizer2 is another great tool for tournament and SitnGo's. Learning how to play short-stack poker in Mtts is so important. 20-30BB push/fold strategies and using your stack to pressure is almost a separate poker skill.

The newest (not new anymore) tool is the "solvers" -Pio-solver the GTO kids are digging into these solvers which figure out the most balanced approach to situations by "running" simulations for everything from bet sizing to hand ranges, etc.. I certainly only understand the very basics of this. It is fascinating but beyond my skill set at this time!

So there is a basic list of software being used by wiz-kids to make poker much more difficult than when I began playing. Drive-HUD is incredibly priced for what it delivers and Equi-lab is "free". Start there, you can't go wrong!

Holdem Manager strategy will not give you, but will help you to find out what decisions were profitable and which negative.
