What is the general consensus regarding the double or nothing tournmaments? Is it true you can win moire than not by just not playing any hands at all other than uber premium hands and just sitting out or folding all hands save blinds?

That would all depend on the game. I'm sure some games you can if there is a ton of action but i've played in a few tight games that were 6 handed that took about an hour and in that amount of time you would be crushed by the blinds. Most have pretty short blind levels too.

good night.
In double or nothing tournaments I think is best to play very conservative. At the micro level limits often can win without playing a hand.
Always worth playing them with hands, a very abc poker and you have to learn to master far the icm.
Generally they are not profitable while not overlooking any winning strategy, because if you do a 50% itm you will lose money (which would be for the commission)

I have played a few of these recently and it sounds like you have been given some bad advice from what you think about them.

i have played at €2.5-€5 both turbo and standard, i would recommends turbo for many reasons..

*they are quicker to boost your winnings per hour
*the rake is sometimes cheaper
*people may play faster and looser
*they load quicker
*and the most important reason is the way you should play is pretty much fold 95% of your range until the big blind and small blind combined equals about 10% of the starting stack.... at this point you should be shoving any two cards (unless into a chip leader or there is a super short stack) form small blind to big blind. Shoving around 40-60% of your range form the button. Then your ABC hands all shoved form anywhere.

DO NOT CALL AN ALL IN ON THE BUBBLE (specific crcumstances being you have less than 3/4 blinds and you have a premium, youre calling a very very small stack or you have KK/AA)
