If tournaments are for money, then there are fewer players, and if the freeroll poker school is better, more players there play the game for balls than more participants, the more balls.

I do not know how for others. But it's easier for me to play tournaments with fewer participants.

For me, the fewer people in the tournament, the easier it is. But this is purely my opinion.

More people means more money up top but also higher variance.

Less people will have less money up top but also lower variance.

It does not matter. The percentage of winning places will still be the same.

Smaller field is better chance of getting ITM... but it will be smaller winnings.

As far as an mtt goes, I prefer to play a field of 100-500. Playing a field larger than that takes a lot of luck to win. I have had moderate wins in fields of 500 or less.

I would rather have less participants in a tournament. Less chaos and loose play and also prizes are bigger when making the money.

In smaller field tournaments the chances of winning the tournament are bigger, but the prizes are smaller.

I really like small field low/micro stakes for grinding. Players tend to not be the greatest, and you are required to win far fewer sketchy all-in's to make it deep. Less variance and great way to steadily build your BR.

However, if you are shot-taking I actually think bigger fields are better. Generally shot taking = above your skill level, don't put yourself in a small field condensed with better players. Plus, it's shot-taking, and IMO you gotta go big or go home in these one-off situations!

The percentage is the same, but you will make the money and win more often in smaller fields. Well, you should if you are plaing good poker.

Typically the larger the field the more below average skill level players there are going to be. Think of it this way... There are less players that can pay a 10k tourney then there are players that can afford to play a 10 tourney.

The fewer people in the tournament - the more chances of winning. I mean - the winning of the tournament, not to get in ITM. This is a mathematics)

Smaller fields are much better. The chance of getting to the final table with thousands of entrants is very slim.

If there fewer players more chance to win the tornament, if you play a HU you have a 50% to win, if you play a sit of 10 players you have a 10% to win.

I do not care i playing both. There are days when it just works and there are days when it does not work out. I have played many freerolls so far this month. Mostly i was in the tournaments in the money where several thousand players participated.

You can loos with the better hand in a tournament with many players, but also with a few players. The hand with which I am the most eliminated tournament is AK.

I do not like the hand anymore "looks good but does not win".

Last month i played in the elementary league at pokerstars. In this league for me it was easier to finished the tournament in the money allthough many tousends of players have participated. In this month i play in the High School League and for me it is more difficult to finish any tournament in the money allthough usally only 1000 players participate.

I have observed that this is the online poker reality! Some poker beasts out there doing that a lot with success.

On the other hand the bigger the field the bigger the percentage of bad players. You have better chances to scoop some really easy pots against a random bad player.

I like both!

Personally, I do better in smaller field MTTs.

The smaller the field, the higher your chances of winning. If there are 50 players, your chances are 1 in 50. If there are 1000 players, your chances are 1 in 1000. This being said, bigger tournies have bigger prizes (and weaker players but higher variance) while smaller tournies have smaller prizes (but lower variance).

In my experience the size of the field matters as the cost of entry does.Fewer people and a bigger buy-in generally result in less donk play.

I think, it is easier to play in a tourney with a smaller field of people, because it also takes not so long about time. Therefore you have shorter time in that you need to keep up your concentration.
