Okay last night late in multi table 136 players to start 13 places paid two bubbles and 14 players left. I had just been moved tables only played with dealer on specific hand.im in big blind 12,000, 2,000 anti. Under the gun (villian 1) calls folds to dealer(villian 2) who goes all in which I had seen him pushing alot at last table, I look down I have pocket kings, villian 1 has 180,000, villian 2 has 110,000 I have 205,000. My thought is to reraise all in to push villian 1 out.which I actually do, however as soon as action goes to villian one I know he has aces as fast as he puts chips in. We turn over villian 1 AA, villian 2 2JJ, me pocket 2JJ. Me pocket KK . A jack hits on turn and he takes main pot , I take the worst of it...any thoughts onhow I could have got away from this can you fold kings here? Is the money so close worth folding a big pot?

I have known people to fold AA late in tournaments just because pre-flop is still a gamble. I had an AA v 1010 v 99 earlier and the 9 hit to take us both out. (I was AA) It's hard to fold a good pocket pair but I do like to stick to the theory of ''you can't lose what you don't bet''. It's really hard to say tho because doubling your pot is always a good call, but losing half really sucks as well. Hard to say tho.

I don't see a fold here. Kings are just too good to fold. You have seven players and unless you have a good read here e.g. your opponent limps when they have aces or they only shove with the best of it on the bubble or if you're playing live that they're shaking so hard that they can't control it, then you are never folding here.

I've never folded KK preflop, but twice I've tanked and came really close. Once they had AA and the other time they had QQ.

so...even if I would have gone through with it and made the tough fold, I would have been correct only 50% of the time...and both times I felt REALLY strongly that they had AA. Just goes to show you can never be 100% sure of your read.

I've folded QQ preflop a handful of times and was only "correct" in that they had a bigger pocket pair a little more than half the time...

you'd have to be extremely deepstacked for there to be enough preflop action to be able to find a preflop fold with KK. there would basically need to be a 5bet from a nit for me to fold KK. Most tourneys don't have a lot of room for a 5 bet due to fast structures.

the structure of the main event allows for this, and even so, most players won't be able to do what this guy did.

and you can also talk yourself out of a huge pot with the best hand...even at the main event

Unless min-cashing is a meaningful amount of money (in real life, not a big % of a small BR), it's silly to fold KK. so for example, I can understand doing so when you're on the verge of min-cashing for thousands of $, but not for $30 even if my roll is only $10. And even in the former case, folding means you accept a lower EV.
