As I continue on in my poker journey I am always looking for strategy to add to my game or anything in general I can do to improve my game. After recently hitting one of the low spots every poker player experiences I have been going back over my game, re-evaluating what I have considered standard lines, make a note of spots I felt I misplayed, and watching alot of content specifically on Twitch to see how some of the better players are making their decisions.

I am looking for that X factor that sets the succesful players apart ftom the rest of the herd. I havent seemed to pin point it yet but I watch these players consistently make deep runs and 1 or 2 FT, and bink at least 1 tourney very frequently. It is my goal to get to this level but I dont think it is possible until I figure out exactly what this X factor is. I watch them make similar moves that I make, take the sane kind of lines as i do in certain circumstances, lose flips like i do, etc. What is the X factor, what am I missing?

there is nothing like X factor in online poker, but the cards should be played right at the right time against the right opponents.:smokin:

The "X Factor" of these players is not just one thing IMO. It is their overall approach to the game, they are committed to playing consistent, not focusing on results and actually detaching from bad luck or variance, they play within their bankroll and have extreme discipline. They are also very knowledgeable of all aspects of the game, player analysis, hand analysis, probabilities and betting lines.

When you played 4000 chaso at the poker tables, you will find your X factor. The experience of other players only gives the direction of movement, and the rest is in your hands.

This is very interesting think ... i think X factor u find if u play 1000+ tournaments in monts, and 50-80 hours in a mount watch u played hands and see mistakes:)

X factor..... maybe try reviewing youк plays. As any poker player progresses he wil find him self to "know it all" and think that any play that he makes is justified, they are often not. Just because you've read something on CC,BR79,slansky does not mean it will work on the limit you play. Try reevaluating your plays.

the key i think is making the right decisions at the right time. ex..just b/c you're dealt aces won't guarantee you a win. do i raise pre flop and how much? you still might get calls from players with rags and get outdrawn. the way i play, i just take what the board gives me.
