WTF Super Turbos?

So I recently decided to play $1 and $2 sats in order to get $11 coupons. I then use the $11 coupons to play in $11 tourneys of course but most of those tourneys take 4+ hours and have weak payout structures. However, I notcied that Carbon has $11 super turbos that end up having $500 prize pools with 9 of 50 getting paid. So min cashing for $30 seems legit when I originally paid $2.

.....which leads me to this:
How can I better my super turbo play, Im talking 3min blinds 3000 starting stacks? Any "rule of thumbs" i should know about? I played in only one so far and got 20ish/50 but made what I see now as a big error which certainly could have lead me to the money:

I had AQs on the button and UTG went allin, and the CO followed. We all had similar stacks, I had 200ish more than both, but none of us were short stacking, in fact were were all in the top 10 with 30ish left. I decided to fold assuming I was at best flipping. Wrong, UTG showed J5s (same suits as my AQ) and CO shows KQo. Again, nobody was obligated to shove as the blinds were around 200-400 and we had stacks of 6k ish.

Am I beating myself up too much or was my fold hypothetically correct? Also what are your ranges from each position in super turbos? What are some general tendencies of players in ST's ex. half field generally goes out in first 5min, etc.?
Thanks,
Scotty

Certain situations notwithstanding (like being so short you can't survive another orbit, or effective stacks being a tiny fraction of your stack), AQ vs two shoves at 15bb effective is generally a standard fold. There may an argument specific to ST's that would add to the justification (I'm not an ST expert), but with the effective stacks as indicated I believe it's never going to be correct to get it in there.

I just ran this through an odds calculator at 2dimes. This situation was a flip, so you got a good price for your $$.
Jc 5c 25.89%; Ac Qc 49.95% + 0.5% to tie; Kd Qh 23.14%

However, I don't think having one hand dominated (KQ) and having the suits covered on the under card hand (J5s) is typical. Normally I'd think you would be in against one under pair. For comparison lets get rid of J5s and say utg has pocket sevens. Now you are slightly worse than a 3:2 dog, still from a purely odds pespective you are not doing badly. I just think there's a better spot you can wait for to put your tourney life at risk.
EV 7s 7d 41.54%; Ac Qc 37.21% + 0.376%; tie Kd Qh 20.37%

I agree with dmorris I'm probably folding in this spot AQ doesn't play well against 2 other hands in this scenario.

super turbos

If you play super turbos your range should open up dramatically, but you have to be smart about it. The people that you are playing against are thinking the same way, so often times people are making thin raises or loose calls, so you benefit by playing your big hands very aggressively to get max value. My top 3 tips for super turbos

1. Open up your range
2. Take advantage of positional situations when you can
3. Be prepared to make thin calls yourself and don't be afraid to get it in with medium good hands

Try to see a lot of flops while the blinds are low, and find the donkeys early, before they dump their chips to someone else.
