Hey everyone.

I have just stepped my way up to a semifinal ticket on Bovada for the wsop ME contest.

I started with ME cheap seats. Now I just placed in the quarterfinals (which was a turbo). Next is the semifinal (another turbo).

This is what I need help with. I despise turbos. I was just jamming all in every decent hand I got. I didn't even try to play post flop. It seemed to work. I got Q-Q twice, A-K a few times, etc.

These turbos are so crazy. I really want to place in the semifinal. Does anyone have any tips to help me with this goal? I know turbos are probably just mostly luck. However, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

If I can get through the semifinal, then I am in the satellite. From there they award seat(s) to the 2013 WSOP ME.

Needless to say, I would be MORE THAN STOKED to go to the ME for a $3 investment.

Thanks in advance for any help that y'all offer me.

Main thing I can recommend with turbos is to not let the blinds wear you down. You don't need to be making moves with the blinds in the first couple levels, but they will be increasing before you know it, so it will be vital to be opening hands, even if they aren't quite up to your standards. You really have to play your position over your cards, as you won't be guaranteed premiums in such a fast structure. Other then that just try to get reads with opponents, and don't be afraid to 3bet a loose opener with less then stellar holdings if you see they're getting out of line. Best of luck, would be awesome to see someone from CC make it to ME off a satty!

Yeah thanks.

I tried playing some poker at first. I raised with a decent ace, and SB calls. Flop comes K high, and SB checks. So I cbet about 2/3 or 3/4 pot, and he calls. Next card is a 9. Check again. I bet again, and he check raises me. I had him on K-9, so I folded.

From that point forward, it was pretty much crunch time. I had about 15-20 BBs, so I just told myself to get it in with any decent hand after that. That way I would not be outplayed postflop. It worked. However, I barely made it to the end. I was one of the shortest stacks, and the blinds were just rediculous.

I am excited, yet overwhelmed by the semifinal coming up. It would cost me $75 to enter it if I paid. I don't want to blow this. I only invested $3 to get to where I am now. I hope for some run-good. If I make it through that, the satellite is 15 minute levels. That should be way easier.

Obviously, it is any poker players dream to get a seat in the ME for $3. I hope I can achieve mine.

I was just looking at the upcoming semifinals. I was relieved when I saw that they aren't all turbos! There is one tomorrow (technically today) at 14:50 that has 12 minute levels. I am gonna play that one.

Wish me luck CC!

Be tight in the beginning and extract value so you have extra chips later. This way you can wait a little longer for better holdings against the players who have to shove just because they are short.
