I am new to this forum, but one of my main reasons for seeking out and joining CC is because I will be playing in the Circuit Events next month in Louisiana and I'm looking for a little guidance... a little heads up, from anyone that has ever played in an event. Let me back up a little and introduce myself. My name is Chris and I live in Southeast Texas. Im 32 years old and I have been playing poker since I was about 18. My main thing back in the day was tournaments but lately I have been playing alot of $1/2... At the moment I am unemployed. I do whatever it takes to get my bills paid and make sure my kids are taken care of(I have 3 that live with me). Basically I hustled up this money and I am ready to put it all on the line and try my hand on the circuit. I've already paid for a week stay and made my arrangements so I am set to go!! Im so excited about it im about to spontaneously combust... But Im just seeking some advice on game play, starting stacks, anything you think would help me get an edge up in my game. This will be my first time ever playing in any wsop events so ANY advice would be greatly appreciated... Thank You!

welcome to the forum! I am a member who took a hiatus for several years, from both the forum and Poker. I started playing poker in 2003 and had always dreamed of playing in any WSOP, including a WSOPC event. So I got a chance last December to play in the 6-max ( which is one of my fave trny to play). I have to say it was an amazing experience. I placed ITM, and the only other WSOPC event I had ever played prior to that was a turbo ( 1 day event). My advice to you is this: firstly don't play the turbo event, there is such a mad rush to grab chips people really play poorly. Or bluff with crappy hands that may or may not hit on any given street of course. Secondly; What I did learn in the 6-max event was to be SUPER patient, and trust your gut... I had to fold a flopped nuts straight, at the bubble ( I didn't REALLY have to, but I wasn't willing to bet 190K in tourney chips that my read was WRONG, and that I wasn't behind by a runner runner flush, or boat possible) Thirdly; Every trny is just a marathon, its not a sprint. Pick your spots and don't let the blinds over run your stack size. it doesn't matter how many chips you have as long as you have the guts to make a stand with them, and of course your timing is good! Lastly; remember its always better to be lucky than good! which is gonna happen to some people all the time, and all the people some of the time. But only one guy ( or girl) is gonna be lucky enough to collect all the chips...... Best of luck to you on your journey!

So when do we get to hear about your experience in bossier city Texan? The WSOPC is coming to NJ on Nov.29th so I must assume that the events there are coming to a close, if not over already.
