I was playing in a FT MTT tourney. Blinds were 200/400 and my stack was +- 5,000. Im in the SB with A8 of clubs when every one folds to the Button who then raises it to 1,000. His stack was approx 8,000 and he had been aggressive the whole tourney, especially when folded to him. I thought this to be a good time to try a re-steal so I came over the top of him with my Allin. He called with an AQ offsuit and it held up.

Ive read many books (HoH being my favorites) My M was less than 9 and I only had 12 BB left.

Bad Move or just Bad luck the Button woke up with a hand?

Thanks

I am making the same play as you did. In most cases button is betting ATC here, I think it is just unlucky that he had a hand that had you dominated.

Absolute standard play. Don't let results from one game effect your play.

Standard play, you just got unlucky to an agg. player. his 2.5X was a little fishy but his image calls for either a push or fold.

The resteal has got many factors in it before you can really consider it , before I make a decision on this I would need to know is 2.5xbb his normal raise on the button, you said he was agressive but was he TAG or LAG, had he showndown steals after hitting something on the flop or had a flop come with high cards after he had bet preflop and then folded to a bet or shown weakness and folding later in the hand.

Apart from that your M makes this a pretty standardplay and you were just unlucky unless like stated above you had some reads on the player which made you believe this was not a steal.

This stuff happens. Keep in mind, even bluffers run into hands every now and then. If you think that this was the best chance you could get (I'd probably agree), then it was a good play.
