winning freerolls

I was just wondering how many freerolls people play before they they make it in the money. It took me about a month of playing on pokerstars before I placed in the money.

Sometimes it happens in bunches. You will win 2 or 3. Then you will go weeks without winning a freeroll.

Freerolls are tournaments with free entry. Not bad, huh? The unpleasant news is that in most cases you will not be able to win a lot. However, playing them makes sense.

With freerolls you can lay the foundation for your bankroll. Some players have already proven that you can climb the limits without investing a single cent.
Freerolls are a free opportunity to gain experience. For example, it is very difficult to learn how to play well at the final table, because it's very rare that you get to it. How often do you start the tournament, and how often do you reach the final table?
Freerolls are fun. You do not risk anything, and in these tournaments players of the most different types gather, i.e. You have the opportunity to practice in the game against different opponents, which is a valuable experience.

Been playing on ACR for a little over a week now, and haven't cashed once. Been close to the bubble once or twice, but haven't quite made that milestone yet. Feeling hopeful, as the advice from some of the community members has been helping me tremendously. So thanks again, CardsChatters.

If you intend to win a freeroll, then, due to unusual opponents, your strategy should be as follows: tight, solid, aggressive poker.

Play only good starting hands.
Make big raises and big bets more than in normal play.
If you have a good combination, put, put and put it again.
If you have nothing, well, there's nothing to be done. Do not try to bluff.

It took me about the same amount of time and then another month before I cashed a second time. Maybe I'm just a slow learner, lol.

I consider myself a freeroll hunter, I do not have enough money to invest in online poker, so I'm always looking for opportunities to earn some money to play. I've already had some opportunities to get on ITM, I plan to get there many more times.

There is a huge difference in freerolls--some are worth playing in and most arent--the christmas freeroll was a real good one on pokerstars--but why couldnt they put it on another day--i overcooked the turkey--couldnt they put it on boxing day?

Once you've won a freeroll or two, you get this feeling that you can do it again. You can also recognize when momentum is in your favor and capitalize on it.

It's very hard to cash consistently in freeroll tournaments, but as mentioned by others it's a good place to practice your game. Just be careful not to pick up bad habits playing in freerolls. Play much like you would in a cash game, tight and aggressive, and you'll stand a chance to survive until the final table. Once you build a bit of a bankroll, try out one of the micro level cash tables or sit & go tournaments. You'll see an immediate difference, even at that level, in the quality of players. Much more disciplined, and in my opinion, much easier to play. You'll still see some bluffing at the cash tables, but more often than not, if a player goes all-in, he has the nuts. A refreshing change from playing against the hoards of freeroll fools who go all-in with crap. Good luck out there!

Freeroll is a good place to practise but you got to pay attention to whether you are making the right play by reviewing your hands, do not be result-oriented. Don't try to bluff too much in freerolls because the players there have almost no fold equity.

I have always made money from free rolls. Yah it is hard but it is fun and it provides a lot of experience too.

I have been playing for a very long time and a lot of freerolls to try to raise them on myself

You will be surprised, but I have played freerolls for about four months before making my first deposit. I play poker for 5 months and now I continue to play only in freerolls.

You need to develope a strategy specifically for freeroll. They are very difficult to win despite half of the players being begginers. Such a variety of players is hard to beat, you need to adjust every time.

Personally, I played freerolls for about two years, after which I made a deposit to PokerStars. I believe that in freerolls you can win decent amounts of money if you play them often enough. Good luck.

a lot of people don't take freeroll seriously at all. It's good to play tight and when you get a hand, to play aggressive. People aren't thinking of their own wallet when they play freerolls, and will call you with nonsense a lot of the time, especially early. This can fatten your stack and help you get ITM.

freeroll are very difficult.Free entry is very difficult to make a fold .....If you got JJ you cant fold at freeroll for example.....But when you make money from zero with zero risk its 100% value.

This is a great point to consider. If you can convince yourself you bought in for $100 while playing freeroll, and it is what you need to eat, you will play the style you need for freeroll. Very tight and then aggressive. It is actually high level in some aspect to win freeroll, but in some aspect, you are depending on the low level of your opponent. Very strange environment, but definitely worth experiencing regularly.

here in CC it cost me a little to be ITM, many free passed, but it is because of the level of game of the players, here there are very good players, and it is learned as the tournaments are played

I get in the money in ACR freerolls about 1 out of 6 freerollls. In the early stages I go all in with premium hands and get called by hands I dominate. Then build a stack and put pressure on when there are about 30 people remaining

I make the money in freerolls about 3-4 times a week, but this isn't enough to start a good bankroll. That and I'm bad about managing my small bankroll. I am a slow learner. Rome wasn't built in a day though. Poker is and always will have the challenging aspect to it. I don't see myself quitting the game anytime soon.

I make the money in freerolls 2-3 times a week but I think it's hard to win a freeroll because a lot of people go into freerolls not caring if they win or lose because they are free and they don't lose any money, some people call with any hand and they get lucky.
