I really don't know why, but I have more success in freeroll.
I had won the last CC freeroll on BCP....

When I use my winning to register to a tournament with buy-inn ;

I win nothing, nothing, nothing, or I win the minimum price...

Another time, I had won another freeroll.
We were 1583, I won $5.43 after 6 hour...

When I talk of this with some member here, all of you say that freeroll is more harder to cash in it...

Maybe is psychology and when you pay a tournament play diferrent than a freeroll or get stressed.Maybe you were just unlucky, the right phrase here if your game doesnt contain mistakes is that your oppinent was lucky.Maybe was random cause noone can only win, all players play to win.

If you're comparing free-rolls to a buy-in, that's like comparing apples and carrots (Or something of that nature).

I say this with the utmost respect to you, but "Free-Rolls" are just that "Free", when you drill that concept Into your brain, than you'll understand the "the answer to your question".

In other terms, "Free-Roll" players, basically "mash/click buttons" (Theirs rarely thinking Involved). The only free-roll that players actually play decent In, Is the CC games, and (not all CC games btw), yet CC games are harder than the average "Free-Roll".

Now going by this theory, (I hope you follow), If "CC Free-Rolls are harder than the average Free-Roll", than then the next evolution to this theory would be that "Average buy In games of $1 would be that exact equal to a CC game" (To a standard) but above that now $5+ games would than be harder than CC Free-Rolls, correct?

This again Is my own theory on this Issue

You can't compare CC-freerolls to other freerolls or real money games.
The CC freerolls have a lot bigger pay-out( 20% compared to 10%) and it goes alot faster.
In the CC-freeroll you're ITM in about 1hour and a half that doesn't happen in a MTT.

Freerolls are still easier to play. No one risks nothing, unlike tournaments for money. There and more experienced players

Just because a person has more money than you, doesn't equate to them being a better player, and because a player has more "Experience" doesn't mean they're more knowledgeable, For all you know a player that has been playing online for 6+ years, could still be an over all loser.

I used to have the same problem when I was transitioning into money games from freerolls. I think it's was all about the state of mind between the 2. In freerolls there was no risk of loosing cash, in money buy-in tournaments there was a risk of losing some of the bankroll which probably played a role with my decision making during the tournaments.

Easier to play how??. The simple fact alone that no one is risking anything is what makes it so much harder. hands ppl would normally fold they go all in with in free-rolls which then to my amusment cracks AA,KK,QQ,AK,AQ etc. So from my experience free rolls are muchhhhh harder to place in. The higher the buy-in the more pro like poker playing you will find. Which would eliminate alot of the reckless and unpredictable plays you would find in free-rolls

50-70 players mtts format is more toward sngs than a tournament.Tournament are much more harder to win.Plus people dont take freeroll as seriously.

90 % players in freeroll they are new almost to poker, and they dont risk anything when go all in, they have no even purpose to win the freeroll.
However in buy inn tournaments they are more skilled players and more deep thinking players and they bother about bubble and place they are going to take, they all motivated to take some place.Furthermore, they are a lot less bluffs than in freerolls, thats the main difference between it

Nailed it!
How many games have you played? Good players will only "cash" 10-30% of the time.

Freerolls you play more relaxed, and that's the keyword, "relax" when you take those winnings into whatever you play.
In the freerolls players that won't reap a meaningful benefit play loose, and you are relaxed and pick them off because it means more to you. When you get to whatever you play with the winnings don't think about if you airball the small winnings from the freeroll it's back to square 1. Just relax and play your game, your basically still freerolling.

Alot of players in freerolls realy don't care. They all-in with 72o. Once these are out, you're left with people trying, but still playing too many hands.
When you play tourneys with buy-in, people tend to think more often. Keep playing tight and think about what your opponents could have.
And don't forget, you probably played a whole bunsh freerolls where you didn't cash anything either.

The stars need to align to win a freeroll. It is the only MTT I usually play. With cash I play SNG or micro table.

Coming in first and winning a freeroll is such a great feeling.

1. freerolls are for poor players, you might have an edge over them, while any other MTT has some sort of a grinder population + might be that thous players are just better than you
2. freeroolls are not hard to cash it is that you will see to much annoying/stupid plays like shoves for 50 BB with 3 pair in 3bet PRF pot, this makes them a lottery basicaly. This will make you reconcider playing them, i mean who wants to spend 3 hours for 5c or/and no game development skills. CC freeroll by the way would be actualy standing out of that bunch, atleas you have to play 130 players and not 5K

Players in freerolls are much more explotative (although in microstakes the standard level is also pretty low).

How many real-money tourneys have you played.? If you have played let's say 500 freerolls and 5 real-money tourneys it's obvious that you have a tiny sample to compare. But if you play approx the same number of freerolls and real-money tourneys then for sure it has to do with you anxiety of losing your buy in. Try to enjoy it man. It's a game. GL

It's an interesting situation. Freerolls generally have massive entrants. To win them either takes reckless abandon to build an initial big stack or tight patient play. For me MMTs require different strategies for turbos vs standard blind structures. But at some point in these MMTs you may need to widen your playable hands so as not to get blinded out. Just some thoughts.

Freerolls let players have nothing lost, so easy to risk one's chips.
At buy-in tournaments when you care your risk, not easy to win.

Competition in a freeroll is much less experienced than in real money buy in tourney's.

this is only a suggestion, or your level is weak to play the paid tournaments, then you need to raise your level
