I have run into an interesting scenario in play poker at my local college the whole table is rather fishy and many will limp with atc. If I am sitting in late positions should I be calling with a huge range of cards. I raise big obviously with any truly premium cards but should I be limping behind with anything pretty much of none of them pfr even with big hands. I am usually getting 5 to 1 to 9to 1 on a call but should I really be just playing their game or staying tag and folding 85% and raising huge and getting paid off. I am more skilled then all my opponents post flop but find it hard to range them due to the wide array of hands they play. Just lost this last week on a man who called a raise with 39. Also many of these players will call u down all the way with a pair. Suggestions on how to beat these type of players it's a live tournament btw

can you clarify a little bit the structure of your tournament?

The structure of the tournament is a 9 man table to 18 man mtt with a 10 dollar buy in. The blinds start at 1/2 with (105bb) then blinds double every half hour the payout structure is 70% 1st 20%2nd 10% 3rd

It will be more profitable not to limp along with those playing ATC but to attack those who are playing too loose by raising their limps. If someone is playing 100% of their hands you do not need a top 15% hand to have their range destroyed. That being said if your raises do not thin the field at all you must play hands that can win multi-way pots (pairs and suited connectors).

Payouts seem pretty top heavy so imo you are incentivized to push smaller edges to build a stack that will win the tournament and not try to coast into the $. Yes, occasionally 39o does make a good hand, but if they are calling raises and then calling down with any pair you should have the best of them more often than not.

Should I be raising pairs and suited connectors with those hands I typically am just limping behind and hoping to make a monster where I will get my whole stack in and by that theory should I be raising with hands such as k10o or j10s or is that too weak and just limp behind I understand to attack the limpers but with 4 or 5 it becomes tricky and many will limp with ultra premium hands

Limp for set-mining with suited cards and low pairs :)

When playing a table full of fish limping and playing %70 of hands. I tend to focus on the hands that will flop me a draw of some sort, and early on while there is still 2 tables, just shoot for 3 of a kind or better and stack the weak player. Not hard when they tend to be calling machines. Sounds like seeing at least the turn card is fairly inexpensive and has great pot odds. I would say play about %50-%60 of your hands against weak limping opponents that are calling machines, and of course crush them with your premium holdings when possible.

I have had really good success against opponents like this. It's almost a guaranteed 1st 2nd or 3rd. Most important thing is know when to fold em. Even weak opponents will catch a good hand or two.

So like would you both be playing suited 1 gapers and and any straightening cards any acex suited any kx suited with a limp. If I have a premium hand typically I am raising 10x bb and getting called by typically 1-2 opponents with. Wide variety of hands. I also do not cbet unless I have something due to their calling station nature. Is there flaws in this style against these opponents.
