When to incorporate 2x, 2.5x, 3x preflop raises early in a tournament

I know that in later stages, a min raise to 2.25x is usually standard preflop. Early in tournaments, I wonder what determines villains different open sizes (with the exception of the donk who opens 4.5x, 5x kind of stuff pf), or even later in a tourney and why some people do 2.5x, 2.25, 3x and so on. Ive read that stack sizes can determine the amount as well but I dont grasp the concept fully and I was wondering if anyone had any input on this. Thanks!!

Under my understanding it is all preference. Some players like to 4x some like to 2.5x

don't use bigger bet then 2,5 unless u are sure, u gonna get value for that.

Yeah man, some players make no difference between early or late stages especially in low stakes, you even see all ins with marginal hands on the 1st level !

Do this with a dozen pairs of the above, and AK, AQ. And sometimes randomly hands raised will not prevent against short stacks. In the later stages of course.

If you are in the early stages a x3 or x4 is not a bet that will keep many players out of the hand.
And in the late stages the lower stacks use to go all in with any good hand... so a x3 bet usually put them on an all-in or fold situation.

I think its more important to read the table and players and determine the range of bets you should apply.

Raise always except when you have those pocket eights...... damn it....

U change your bet sizes your giving away tells when it comes to showdown people will be taking notes of u 4x AA KK and 2.2 J10cc etc etc
