aside from the normal times of being busy that cant be ignored, when do you sit out?

is there an amount of BBs that you will sit out if you reach? or do you never sit out, regardless of how many chips you acquire/how fast?

Never. I don't get it, why would I sit out if I can play? I may get aces or something... if I didn't want to risk my chips then just simply only play K K and A A

Never. If you acquire the lead, then you can change up your strategy and start playing small ball. Not sure why you would ever consider sitting out.. unless the house was on fire.. in which case if I had a lot of cash on the line, I'd probably let it burn ;)

Very seldom. The last time I remember was near the bubble in a satellite where I had a huge stack and could easily afford to fold until the last couple of bustouts happened.

The last time I sat out was when the owner came into my office to chat - felt obligated to listen to him without a distraction.

He he, that may well have been a very smart move.

For me, I usually set a time frame of how long I want to play and leave then, up or down. However, if I'm up big, I will change my game to what some may call nitty for the balance. If things start to go really sour and I lose a couple of decent pots, "I'm outta here".

Before I start playing, I make sure that I grab the charger (for the laptop), grab me a drink and I am off to play. Sometimes though' I do find that nature calls and then my fam gets to witness me carrying the laptop into the bathroom . When nature calls, it calls so under that point alone, a "sit out next hand" button would be nice!

when you lose your mind, when you start giving up your money making stupid moves just because you are on tilt, when you think ´luck´ is against you, when you feel tired, or when your fist is punching the wall too often, when you think somebody is ´watching´ your cards, when you imagine the villains are reading you, when your bankroll is approaching to zero without control, or just when you need to go to the restroom

so there are a lot of hints to know when is the time!

I don't se either why would you sit out, whether short or fat in chips, unless for a reason extra poker (duties, family, etc).

Upon further review -
Never sat out in a tourney but when I was playing cash frequently (live) I would do 10+ hour sessions and would take dinner and bathroom breaks up to an hour.

Short Answer : Never
Long Answer : In a tournament in which cashing is all thats required, such as a sattelite, say the tourney has 600 people and pays 60 spots, and theres 82 left and I have 90 BB.... Ill sit out to guarantee a cash.
OR When your only goal is to cash on the bubble, because you were playing outside your bankroll.... I.E. taking a shot.... Although I wouldnt reccomend it
