When to cbet on turn scare cards?

I'm fairly comfortable knowing which flops to cbet on, and I know what turns to cbet on too, but I feel like sometimes this could be a chip leak, especially during the earlier stages of the tournament? In general what is the best time or spot to fire that second barrel on a scare turn card? Every time regardless of stack sizes?

Personally, during the early tournament play i would only cbet turn if I have a decent hand, especially if i have little or none info regarding my opponent.(which will be the case most of the time because its early)

I see no point in doing fancy plays, barreling at scare cards etc., if you're deep enough... there will be better spots to collect chips I'm sure.

I believe that if you think you have a good value in hand, you should always bet , even at an early stage , after all how you will get the final phase without extracting value ? if you were unsure of the turn or river , just control the pot by blocking bets or going check / call

Like, would it only be worth betting the scare card if you had some kind of equity yourself? Like 8 outs or so?

If I raised from the button 46s

1 caller

Flop comes 2J7

I CBET

Turn comes A

Would betting on this scare card really be worth it with no equity? seeing as 46s has no outs on this board if it's a rainbow.

Definitly not worth barreling at the turn again, IMO.
Also depends of your opponents image and tendencies, but at this board I would rather just give up ,especially if we're early in the tournament.

Your opponent wouldn't (probably) fold any J at this turn bet, a few Ax type hands are also in his range, so the ace also might hit him.

Depends what you think he has , and are you willing to fire a river bullet also?

But, overall I would just give up.

In the early stages of the tournament if you get a call from your opponent on the flop the probability to beat out bet on the turn is extremely small((

Read your Opponent! I'd say wait at least 30 minutes before firing to fold! stack sizes are too big to justify an air bet. Plus it gives you much needed time to gain credibility as a solid player when the blinds are really what your after anyway.

Rethink your idea of "knowing what flops to C-bet with" you may find your self getting trapped by better players. Think about maybe C-betting hands against your opponents range and never try to represent two different hand types when throwing another barrel at the pot. That is a leak.

When the turn hits your perceived range & not your opponents.

A lot of this question I think depends on your opponent that you are firing the 2nd barrel at and your position.

You won't get a definitive answer because their are a lot of factors that play into firing a 2nd barrel!

If ever not sure its never a bad idea to just be patient and wait for a better spot especially early in a Mtt!

Yea, I don't really see a point building a big pot in the early tournament stages on a bluff without a hand or big draw. No reason to start donking off chips that early.

What do you guys recommend for a normal continuation bet amount? min bet? 1/2 pot? I usually go 2/3 pot, but wondering if I'm wasting money by paying too much for the same info.
