When to bluf / c-bet, or let a hand go?
It might be a wierd question but i really need advice on this part.
I've recently been bluffing and c-betting to much which made me lose chips in the long run. I am trying to understand and improve my game, but i think because of some video's and streams i've watched i'm a bit confused about bluffing and c-betting.
A few situations which gives me the tendency to bluf. I have a strong hand but miss the flop. Do i c-bet? If i c-bet, how much % of the pot do you c-bet (I know you need more information here, but i need to know this for situations like 35-40+ bb, so deep stacked) And do i c-bet the same ammount i would've raised if i had a good hand. This way my opponent doesn't have a tell when i bluff or have the nuts(?).
A few situations which can happen:
I c-bet villian calls. Do i continue on the turn? If yes, and villian calls, should i always check-fold the river or contine the river and when should i do this? What if i check the turn and he checks back to me?
And... Lets say i check the good hand but totally missed the board and my opponent bets. Where should i base it on to call, and how many barrels do i call?
When and on what based do i decide to 1-barrel, 2-barrel or 3-barrel?
Should i never 3-barrel with nothing?
What questions should i ask myself if i consider a call/fold or raise?
My explenation is a bit messy as i also don't really know how to explain the problem i have here. If you have any questions about something you don't understand you can just ask.
It is mostly hard for me since i don't use a HUD and i have never worked with it since my computer can't handle it. I have only played a few tournament with a HUD but that was at a friends house and i must say i only know how the VPIP stat works.
It might sound simple to tell myself only bluff when my instinct says he doesn't have anything but it isn't that easy. I think the tendency to bluff is to high for me. So i need to understand and keep in mind some things so this tendency won't be there as much.
If you want to see some 'BOOMS' i think i saved some of the bluffs gone wrong and maybe you can give me some advice on the hands what went wrong.
If you've read all, thank you for taking some time.
