Every once in a while someone asks me what is my style or you hear players say that their style is tight or loose or aggressive or whatever. Over the past year I've even been asking some pros who I have had the opportunity to converse with "what do you think the best style is for MTTs?" I even got one person honestly tell me they don't know, that they've seen some MTTs run over buy TAG players and some by LAG players.

I sure go along with the fact that each MTT has to be played differently. However, you still use what ever style you have, but maybe just change or add something to it. It may be something that has not worked very good before. And the last thing is that learning the game of poker is an everyday thing. I'm always careful at the start of MTT's and when I sit down at a cash tables. I've lost a buyin many time on the first hand.

the truth is that there is a default style to play poker in a tournament you can use different styles since everything depends on who your opponents at the tables

In MTTs, I always start of TAG then adjust as the game progresses.

In cash, I pretty just much play TAG.

My only style is switch it up and think/pick the spots I make moves carefully. Sometimes I start looking to steal for a few rounds, sometimes I feel I need to be tight and wait for stuff to happens. Just depends.

Generally for a 9/10 handed tournament i would say playing a TAG style would be best, but it really depends on how your opponents are playing. Every table is different and you need to be able to adjust your game accordingly.

respect MTT tournaments at the beginning of the tournament you need to play tighter as the blinds are too small to immediately retiring .

IMO, you really need to adapt to the players at any particular table. Having a "set" style will get you eaten by good players. They will exploit "set" styles, as you should too.

I only play MTTs and at the beginning of the tournament I'm very conservative, very tight. After the first hour of the tournament I start playing looser

I don't go to a table with the thought of being tight or loose, it depends on the table and what my opponents are doing.

If I am playing in a CG I will play TAG, I don't often play CG's though.

I play mostly hyper turbo heads up so no doubt about it my style would be both loose-tight aggressive players. It's not a choice as these games are short and it takes agressive betting to take a chip lead right off the get go especially against tight passive players.

what's my style

I'm going to have to say if by style you mean how to play, i suggest people play aggressive at least some of the time in the tourney i cant stress that enough as a good player.

Other than that style, I play NLHE. Deep stack games. Many of players MTT. 700 tho is ideal. But like many more too lol.

Good luck at the tables guys. New to this forum.
