As mentioned already, multi-entry MTTs are MTTs that allow you to re-enter into the same tournament. That's something new. I am trying to figure out what it is, but without a success...
No, I don't talk about cheating, I'm talking about official feature of some tournaments. I saw tourneys with 2 multi-entries and 0 re-entries. Maybe I should provide a screenshot, but I can't do that right now. There are 2 accepted definitions of multi-entry and they have very different meanings.
1. A tourney where you can get knocked out and then can re-enter(ie repurchase your way in)
2. Cheating by playing multiple entries in the same tourney by using different names on different skins on the same network.

Going a little be further, multi-entry MTT =/= re-buy MTT. Though similar in that you get to buy into the same MTT again if you bust out, the main difference is that with a multi-entry or re-entry MTTs, you pay the rake every time you do so. With re-buy MTTs, you only play the rake when you initially enter and and then just pay the tournament fee every time you re-buy.
So, if you re-enter 10x into a $1 + .10 re-entry MTT, you're paying $11 total, $1 in rake. If you re-buy 10x into a $1 + .10 re-buy MTT, you $10.10, .10 in rake.
Another key difference is that re-entry MTTs allow you to re-enter any time as long as its within their late registration period. Unlike with re-buys where you have to re-buy then and there. If you don't re-buy with in a given time, usually 30-60 seconds, you are out of the MTT. With a re-entry, you can bust out, then take a break for 10 min, the re-enter again if you wanted.
Finally, most re-entry MTTs start you off with deeper stacks than a re-buy MTT would as re-entry MTTs don't have the option of insant re-buying and adding-on after late reg ends. Re-buy MTTs start off with shallow stacks at ~50 BBs to entice players to re-buy early to have a 100 BB stack early. Re-buy MTTs also have an add-on option that differs between sites.
Oh yeah?We are starting to have to pay the rake or entry fee in rebuys to.
As far as I know, they're the same thing, just expressed differently. What's the difference between re-entry and multi-entry?
Uuuuuuuuuu, that sounds interesting! Though I'm not sure it's favorable for the player. Playing two consecutive tournaments is probably "bigger bang for the buck" (purely mathematically), than playing one tourney with two stacks. There are also Multi-entry games where you can buy in twice ( or more ) and play at two different tables in the same game. Depending on the specific rules of that game ... if you make it to the FT with both ( or more ) of your entries, your stacks will be combined.
