Does anyone here mix their games? Lets say 6 man 9 man 18 man.. during a long session maybe 4-6 tables - as thats my usual scope
or even mix turbo and standard tables if the games are slow loading?
Or is it better to be patient getting those tables open playing standard blinds..

does anyone have success in mixing stt and mtt? Or do the majority just stick to one specific?

I used to mix my games like you are saying, when multi-tabling. Now I stick to the same kind of games, the ones I do best in. I think it is player dependent, some love turbo's, some players hate them(me being one of them.) The advantage to turbo games, is that the end much faster. In other words, you can get more volume. I would suggest you look at your results, and stick to the games you do best in. Yes, there are numerous players that have success mixing the games they play. I'd imagine that it's about 50-50 between the players that stick to specific games, and the ones that mix it up.

I think for sure turbos are more if a gamble and sometimes all you can do is flip and pray a bad session can be soul destroying.

my feeling is say im playing 6 tables and ive got two 18 mans two 9 man's a six man and a 45mtt.
For me I just get the tables up and take what I fancy or what is filling up at a steady pace.

but whether or not alot if players would play just sit n go or mtt im not sure and whether it can effect performance having diff length games going

I do mix, because I'm in the US I don't have a ton of choices available to me...so I kinda take what I can get.

I'll usually play 1 or 2 SNGs with 1 or 2 MTTs...usually max 4 tables.

If I wanted to 4 table the same type of game....I'd probably have to move!

I will mix it up. I am still learning so for me multi tabling might only be 2-3 tables at a time. I myself see no difference in multi tabling in both Stt and Mtts....but as I said I am learning. All in all I agree with most. Stick to what you do best in. I myself seem to do better in the reg mtts instead of turbos or single tables. I am practicing with turbos so I can get better because I do see the value in them.

I know when I mix tables, i often confuse myself with what I'm doing. MTT's and STT's have a little different game play, but I guess it's about the same. My main thing is keeping track of my position and reading certain players at other tables. I carry my stuff from one table to another and it generally ends up burning me.

I mix mine up but mainly because I play from the US and feel like I have to get decent volume across a few different sites. In the pre Black Friday days, I wouldn't very seldom mix. I feel like it's easier to play large sets if you don't mix.

That is one thing I don't have to worry about, because I can only play and keep up with two tables, max. But, when I play different games, one will be Omaha Hi/lo, and the other table Texas. playing like this is no problem for me. But, mostly I play two tables, both Texas.

Good luck on your 4-6 tables.

I am mixing my games and multi-tabling, although i prefer not to mix cash games with MTTs/SNGs. It's hard to think about your move in a cash game when there are multiple tables flashing around you.

If I have more than 3 games going it affects my STT results. However, that doesn't stop me from mixing them. My focus is on MTTs, but variance is a bitch so I play STTs to cut down on the variance. The best thing I could do is stop acting so ADHD and stop playing multiple forms of poker/multiple sites/and not play too many tables at once.

generally not a great idea to mix games. there are subtle differences between variants, even 6-9-18 mans that you need to account for.

I only ever mixed 9 mans and 180 mans. firstly, it's easy to tell them apart, i used to only play 2-4 180 mans, and 12-15 or so 9 mans at a time. The only way i could do that is after playing around 5-6k games at the 9 mans. basically i was confident enough to lower the amount of 9 man tables so i could load some possibly more lucrative 180mans(usually played anywhere from 18-25 tables at once of 9 mans sng).

as a general rule i would say don't mix at all if you can help it. if you do mix, make sure you know the differences between the formats, and setup your tables so that you can easily recognize which game you are playing.

I've done it, but it's a no-win since the best you can hope for is that your MTT and STT games remain unaffected.
